Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has found itself at the centre of a rather interesting box-office conversation. The film has opened strongly but received divided reactions, and now filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s simple Instagram post for Yash has caught attention.
Dhar recently shared a dark, stylised image of Yash on his Instagram Story with just three elements—“Yash 💪❤️”—and tagged the actor. There was no long caption or explanation, but given the conversation surrounding the two films, the timing has made the post particularly noticeable.
The comparison between Toxic and Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 did not begin after the films reached theatres. It started much earlier, when both projects were linked to the same March 19, 2026 release date. Toxic had originally been scheduled for March 19, before its release was eventually pushed. Reports at the time linked the change to the potential clash with Dhurandhar 2.
That decision itself became a talking point among fans, with sections of social media interpreting the postponement as Toxic moving away from a direct clash with Dhar’s film. However, it is important to note that the reasons surrounding the date changes were more complicated, and Yash later addressed the speculation about whether the film was being pushed because of Dhurandhar 2.
Eventually, Dhurandhar 2 retained its March 19 release, while Toxic arrived in theatres on August 26.
Once Toxic released, comparisons resurfaced, this time through box-office numbers. The film made a huge opening, with reports putting its first-day India collection at around ₹79 crore, while early reports also noted mixed audience reactions.
While some viewers have praised Yash’s screen presence, action and the film’s ambitious visual style, others have questioned its storytelling, screenplay and pacing. The divided word of mouth has subsequently become an important part of the film’s box-office discussion.
And that brings us back to Dhar’s Instagram Story.
There is nothing in his post suggesting a comparison with Dhurandhar 2. It is simply a filmmaker showing appreciation for Yash. But after months of comparisons between the two films, a straightforward “Yash 💪❤️” from Aditya Dhar was always likely to get noticed.
Sometimes, a two-word post can create more conversation than a long statement—and this one certainly has.
