Bigg Boss 20 has introduced its first nomination task, but this time, being nominated does not mean that a contestant is immediately at risk of being evicted from the house. Instead, the latest twist has introduced the concept of lifelines, giving the contestants an additional layer of protection as they make their way through the season.
The first nomination task has resulted in four contestants being nominated. Love Gill, Arishfa Khan, Uditi Singh and Kanika Mann are the first four contestants to find themselves in the nomination process this season. However, none of them will be eliminated based on the upcoming audience vote.
As per the format of this season, every contestant has been given two lifelines. The audience will now vote among the four nominated contestants, and the contestant who receives the lowest number of votes will lose one of their lifelines. This means that the current voting process will not determine an eviction but will decide which contestant loses one of their chances to save themselves in the future.
Each contestant has two opportunities to protect themselves during the game, making the lifeline system an important part of the season’s format. While losing one lifeline does not immediately put a contestant out of the competition, it could become a disadvantage in the later stages of the game when nominations and evictions become more intense.
The four nominated contestants also have different levels of popularity and fan following outside the Bigg Boss house. Love Gill, Arishfa Khan, Uditi Singh and Kanika Mann will now have to rely on the audience’s support to ensure that they do not become the first contestant to lose a lifeline.
It remains to be seen how viewers respond to the first voting round and which contestant ends up receiving the lowest number of votes. With no elimination at stake this time, the voting results will still have an impact on the contestants’ journeys ahead.
