Priyanka Chahar Choudhary has addressed the growing curiosity around her equation with Ankit Gupta and revealed why she chooses not to speak about what happened between them publicly. The two actors have shared a close bond for several years, beginning with their association on Udaariyaan. Their friendship became even more prominent when they participated in Bigg Boss 16, where their understanding and comfort with each other remained a major talking point.
Given their closeness, Priyanka and Ankit were frequently linked romantically by fans. Their relationship status remained a subject of discussion for years, although the two did not always put a specific label on their bond. Ankit had previously spoken about their equation and maintained that what they shared was special, while Priyanka too had acknowledged the importance of his presence in her life.
Their equation, however, eventually appeared to undergo a change. The two reportedly unfollowed each other on social media, which led to renewed speculation about a possible fallout and the end of their close relationship. While several theories circulated online, neither Priyanka nor Ankit publicly disclosed the exact circumstances that caused their equation to change.
Ankit later indicated that the matter was personal and involved only the two people concerned. Priyanka has now expressed a similar sentiment while discussing the subject during her appearance on Balaji Telefilms’ podcast Honestly Why Not.
When she was asked directly why she and Ankit had stopped talking to each other, Priyanka did not get into the details of their personal equation. Instead, she explained that not every relationship necessarily has to continue in the same form forever.
Priyanka said, “It was just, I think, it’s between me and him. Some people, maybe, log kahi baar hota hai ki jaruri nahi hota ki kuch rishte acche rishte bhi hote hain. Par zaroori nahi hota ki unka saath mein hona hi zaroori hota hai.’’
The actress further addressed the situation without revealing what led to their distance. She added, “So, that’s it. Yeah, it was like different calls, but yeah, okay.”
Priyanka’s comments have once again brought attention to her long standing association with Ankit. While she has acknowledged that things are no longer the way they were earlier, she has deliberately refrained from sharing the reason behind their changed equation. For now, both actors appear to have kept the personal details of their relationship away from the public domain.
