Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s visits to spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan have once again come under discussion after a claim involving the cricketer surfaced online. The allegation suggested that a substantial amount of money was involved in bringing Kohli to the spiritual leader’s ashram.
Kohli’s representatives have now responded to the claim and firmly rejected the allegation. The development comes after Dinesh Sharma, popularly known as Falahari Maharaj and the president of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, reportedly alleged that Rs 5 crore had been spent to facilitate Kohli’s visit to Premanand Maharaj’s ashram.
The claim quickly gained traction on social media and subsequently became a subject of discussion. However, there has been no publicly available evidence establishing that Kohli was paid the alleged amount for visiting the spiritual leader. His spokesperson has now issued an official clarification, dismissing the allegation altogether.
The statement from Kohli’s team read, “We would like to categorically state that the claims made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma in regards to Mr. Virat Kohli are completely false, baseless and factually incorrect.”
The spokesperson further addressed the reason behind Kohli’s visits to Premanand Maharaj and maintained that they are rooted in personal faith rather than any financial arrangement. The statement said, “Mr. Virat Kohli visits Premanand Maharaj Ji purely out of his deep faith and reverence for Maharaj Ji.”
The team also expressed concern over such allegations being circulated without verification. It added, “We strongly refute these claims and urge the media to exercise due diligence, verify facts before reporting or amplifying such statements, and report responsibly”
Kohli’s association with Premanand Maharaj is not a recent development. The cricketer and his wife Anushka Sharma have visited the spiritual leader on multiple occasions and have been photographed and filmed seeking his blessings at the Vrindavan ashram. Their first reported visit took place in January 2023, following which they returned to the ashram on several occasions.
The couple’s visits have continued over the years, including during significant phases of Kohli’s career. Their association with the spiritual leader has therefore been publicly known for some time.
