Vishal Aditya Singh has a rather different perspective when it comes to marriage. The actor recently spoke at length about relationships, companionship and the expectations that come with tying the knot. In an exclusive conversation with Film Window, Vishal explained why marriage is not something he personally wishes to pursue and shared his thoughts on how relationships work in today’s urban setup.
When asked if he sees marriage as a part of his future, Vishal made it clear that he does not believe in the idea for himself. He questioned the need for marriage and pointed out how easily people can now enter and exit relationships, especially in metropolitan cities. Clarifying that his views are based on the environment he currently lives in, he said, “Nahi, main shaadi naam ki cheez ko khatam hi kar dena chahta hoon. Ab kyun hai ye? Sabhi dheere dheere, dekho main metropolitan city mein rehne waalon ki baat kar raha hoon. Gaon waalon ki baat alag hai. Tier two city mein hain unki baat alag hai. Jahan pe main reh raha hoon main sirf uski baat kar raha hoon. Main apne gaon ki baat is maamle mein nahi kar raha hoon. Abhi log shaadi karna toh bahut easy hai. Chhodna usse bhi zyada easy hai.”
Vishal went on to explain what makes him uncomfortable about the idea of marriage. According to the actor, the possibility of a relationship falling apart can bring a lot of emotional pressure. He does not want to find himself in a situation where he is held responsible for ending a marriage. At the same time, he acknowledged that disagreements are unavoidable when two people share a life together.
The actor was also asked whether financial responsibilities associated with marriage are one of the reasons behind his reluctance. Responding to the question, Vishal said, “Kharcha toh chalo kya hai ki jab ye baat hone lage na kharchon wali tab darr lagta hai. Kyunki mera hi thodi haq hai bhai. Mera hi thodi responsibility hai yaar. Tumko khush rakhna, tumhare liye sab kuch karna. Tum bhi job karo na, tum bhi rakho mere ko khush.”
Vishal further stressed that he does not shy away from taking responsibility within a relationship. He said he would be ready to contribute to household duties and take care of his family. However, he believes that such efforts should come from both sides rather than being expected from only one partner.
Sharing what he would expect from his partner in return, Vishal said, “Main toh paka doon tumhare liye roti. Main tumhare bachche ke napkin bhi change kar doon. Lekin tum bhi mere pe nyochhawar karo. Phir DKNY ki jeans waise hi jaise ladke karte hain. Lekar chalo mujhe Hollywood ghuma ke. Lekar aao jaise ladke le aate hain apni girlfriend ko. Mujhe koi aitraz nahi hai.”
