Madirakshi Mundle, Krishna Kaul and the entire team of Star Plus’ Sairaab have wrapped up the shoot of the show as the romantic drama gears up to bid farewell to viewers. The show, which underwent a major change in its male lead midway through its run, will now conclude the journey of Nayanika and Ishaan.
Madirakshi took to Instagram to share a video featuring several pictures and memorable moments from the sets. Along with the post, the actress penned an emotional note as she reflected on her journey as Nayanika and expressed gratitude towards the channel, makers, co actors, technicians and the audience. She wrote, “First and foremost, a heartfelt Thank You to @starplus and to all of you… Thank you for giving our show Sairaab so much love, for making Nayanika and Ishaan’s story your own, and for always supporting us throughout this journey. Sairaab has been much more than just a show for me. It has been a beautiful feeling and a very special journey. While playing Nayanika, I truly lived every emotion, and somewhere along the way, she became a part of my heart. That’s why saying goodbye today feels so difficult. Leena ji for writing such a beautiful and wonderful show & for Nayanika. Yogi Sir, your guidance and vision have been such an important part of this journey. Saibal Sir, thank you for always being there with us on set and for your constant support. Garima ji and our creative team, the entire production team, technicians and everyone behind the scenes-thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to all my co-actors-you became so much more than co-actors. You became family. The bond we shared and all the memories we created will always be very close to my heart.”
Madirakshi further shared that the final day on the sets was particularly emotional as Nayanika and Ishaan’s story reached its conclusion. She added, “Today is our last day on the Sairaab set… Today, Nayanika and Ishaan’s story comes to an end here. My heart feels a little heavy, because some characters don’t just get played-they become a part of you. But stories may end, journeys don’t. Very soon, I’ll come back to you with a new story and a new character. Until then, please keep showering me with the same love and blessings. Thank you for making Nayanika yours.”
The end of Sairaab also comes after the show went through a significant casting change following Rohit Chandel’s exit. Rohit, who originally played Ishaan, was arrested in July in connection with a POCSO case involving allegations made by a 16 year old girl. The allegations against him are yet to be proven in court. Following his arrest, the makers reportedly looked for a replacement, with several names being discussed before Krishna Kaul eventually stepped into the role of Ishaan. Krishna subsequently joined Madirakshi as the new male lead. Rohit was granted bail by a Mumbai Sessions Court on September 10, with the court noting the seriousness of the alleged offence and imposing conditions on his release.
