The trailer of Dear Husband, a Hindi thriller marking actor-turned-producer Rohit Rajawat’s debut as a film producer, was launched in Mumbai. Produced under the banner of Shooting Sense, the film is directed by Dharmendra Kumar, while Ajit Goswami has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Dear Husband is scheduled to release in theatres across India on September 25, 2026. The film’s all-India distribution is being handled by A One Cine Creation Production, led by Balkishan Srivastava.
The film features Ajit Goswami, Purnima Sharma, Rohit Rajawat, Dharmendra Kumar, Bishwajeet Maiti and Satish Tripathi in key roles. The music has been composed by Rohit Dubey, Jay Mehta, Devarath Sharma and Abhay Tyagi.
Speaking at the trailer launch, actor-turned-producer Rohit Rajawat said, “This is my first film, although I have previously produced a web series. Dear Husband is a different kind of film, and my character is also quite unusual. The film was shot in Uttar Pradesh, and the entire team is from the state. Although these are new faces, everyone is well-trained and understands the nuances of acting. The lead actress, Purnima Sharma, has already worked extensively in films. This is an honest effort by a team of new talent, and I hope audiences will appreciate the film.”
Director Dharmendra Kumar said, “We had to work day and night to complete the film. It is about how a lover goes through difficult and unexpected situations while trying to hold on to a keepsake that connects him to his beloved.”
Writer and actor Ajit Goswami added, “The film revolves around a simple village boy who gets caught up with people involved in robbery. Since I have also written the screenplay, I have immense faith in the story. An ordinary man finds himself trapped in extraordinary circumstances, turning the film into a survival story. He puts his life at risk and takes on dangerous criminals. Watching how he fights against them will be a thrilling experience for the audience. The film has a mix of emotion, drama and action.”
He further revealed that the film was shot in the real Tikri forest in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh, including several night sequences. “During our 30-day shoot, we probably slept for only around 60 hours,” he said.
Satish Tripathi, who plays an inspector in the film, spoke about the challenges faced during the shoot. He said, “The shooting was extremely challenging. We worked in the jungle while dealing with the danger of snakes and scorpions. Every night around 2 or 2:30 AM, the lights would suddenly go off. There was definitely something unusual about that place. The entire journey, filled with thrills and adventure, has been truly memorable.”
With its combination of thriller, survival, action, emotion and drama, Dear Husband promises to take audiences on an intense and unpredictable journey when it arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026.
