Rhiti Tiwari is gradually opening up about the realities of growing up as the daughter of a well known public figure on Bigg Boss 20. The daughter of Bhojpuri actor, singer and politician Manoj Tiwari, Rhiti became a part of Salman Khan’s reality show, which premiered on September 6. Since entering the Bigg Boss house, she has spoken about wanting to step out of her father’s shadow and establish herself independently.
During the latest episode aired on Wednesday, September 9, Rhiti spoke about the difficult side of being associated with a celebrity and politician. While having a conversation with Mary Kom, Uditi Singh and Arishfa Khan, she revealed that she has faced serious online threats simply because of her family background.
Explaining why she feels an added burden while expressing herself publicly, Rhiti said, “Mere pe double pressure raha hai always. Mein jo bhi bolungi, ‘Manoj Tiwari ki beti ne yeh bol diya, woh aisi hai.’”
She then made a disturbing revelation about the kind of abuse and threats she has allegedly received. Rhiti said, “Mujhe death threats aate hai, rape threats aate hai, cause I am his daughter. Mera opinion log count karte hai ki unka hi opinion hoga, aur unke dum par sab mujhe chadate hai.”
Her confession highlighted how difficult it can be for children of public figures to form an identity separate from their parents. Rhiti also explained that her opinions are often viewed through the lens of her father’s public image, leaving her with little room to express herself without facing criticism or assumptions.
Mary Kom appeared to empathise with Rhiti as she listened to her discuss the constant scrutiny she has experienced. The conversation gave Rhiti an opportunity to speak about a side of her life that extends beyond the usual conversations around being a celebrity’s daughter.
Apart from discussing her struggles with public perception, Rhiti has also been candid about her personal experiences inside the Bigg Boss house. While speaking with Kanika Mann, she discussed how her parents’ separation influenced the way she looks at relationships.
Rhiti recalled seeing her mother manage life as a single parent, an experience that she believes has affected her perspective on relationships. She also spoke about encountering controlling men in her personal life. According to Rhiti, those experiences have made her wary of being in a relationship where another person could exercise excessive control over her choices and life.
With several personal revelations already coming from Rhiti during the early days of Bigg Boss 20, her journey on the show is also becoming an opportunity for viewers to understand the person behind the famous surname.
