With Bigg Boss 20 set to premiere on September 7, the previous season of the reality show continues to remain a topic of discussion among viewers. Tanya Mittal, who became one of the most talked about contestants of Bigg Boss 19, recently revisited one of the most difficult moments from her stint on the show.
Tanya took to Instagram to share a video from the media round on Bigg Boss 19 and opened up about how she felt while facing questions from the media. Alongside the video, she recalled the anticipation she felt before meeting the journalists and how the experience eventually left her in tears. She wrote, “As Bigg Boss shuru ho raha hai kal se, pata nahi kyun itni saari yaadein ek saath dimaag mein daud rahi hain. Agar koi mujhse pooche ki meri zindagi ka woh kaunsa din hai jo main kabhi nahi bhool sakti, toh shayad main bina soche Bigg Boss ka Media Day bolungi.”
Tanya remembered entering the media interaction with excitement despite already feeling isolated inside the house. She said that it had been more than 90 days since she had spoken to someone close to her, yet she was happy about getting the opportunity to meet the media. However, she admitted that she was not prepared for the nature of the interaction that followed.
Recalling the questions and reactions she faced, Tanya said, “Aaj bhi yaad hai… mere “Jai Shri Ram” bolne par hansna, mere upar tanz kasna. Sawal sahi ya galat nahi hote, unhe poochne ka tareeka hota hai.” She went on to say that she felt the questions were being asked to bring her down rather than understand her.
Tanya also revealed that she did not respond immediately after the media round. According to her, she went and lay down on a sofa and broke down in tears. She recalled questioning herself about what she had done to make so many people dislike her.
The former contestant further claimed that viewers only saw an edited version of the interaction on television. She alleged that a portion of the media round was not telecast and said that several conversations were stopped. Tanya also claimed that the atmosphere became so intense that Bigg Boss had to intervene.
Looking back at the experience today, Tanya said that the difficult day eventually taught her several important lessons. She reflected on how disagreement does not necessarily mean hatred and how being different can sometimes make a person feel isolated.
She also spoke about the impact words can have on someone, saying that they have the power to both build and break a person. Tanya added that the experience made her “thodi aur soft,” “thodi aur empathetic” and “thodi aur samajhdaar.”
Concluding her note, Tanya reflected on how some of life’s biggest lessons come through painful experiences. She wrote, “Kyuki kabhi kabhi zindagi aapko pyaar se nahi, dard se sikhati hai.”
