Sanvikaa, the breakout star of the hit web series Panchayat, has recently opened up about the struggles she continues to face in the entertainment industry despite her growing popularity. In a heartfelt Instagram Story that caught attention, she wrote, “Sometimes I wish I was an insider or maybe from a very powerful background… as basic as getting respect and being treated as an equal. The battles would have been lesser. Hanging on…” The cryptic yet powerful message resonated with many fans, sparking conversations around industry bias and inequality.

Following the viral post, Sanvikaa later clarified in an interview that she stood by every word. While she chose not to elaborate on specific incidents, she firmly stated that people who come from powerful or connected backgrounds are often given respect automatically, while she has had to consistently prove herself to earn the same. “They are given respect naturally. I have to keep proving and fight for it, then I am given that thing,” she explained. Her honest admission highlights a truth many outsiders in Bollywood and the broader entertainment world know too well — that merit alone often isn’t enough to get equal treatment.

Sanvikaa also reflected on how each stage in an actor’s journey comes with its own set of challenges. From auditions to landing roles to building a career, she described every step as a new kind of battle. “Everyone has their own fight… When you audition, it’s another fight and when you start getting something, there’s another fight,” she said. Her words echo the experiences of many aspiring actors who enter the industry without a famous last name or inside connections.

Originally from Jabalpur, Sanvikaa (whose real name is Pooja Singh) left her engineering background to chase her dreams in Mumbai. Before becoming a lead actor, she even worked behind the scenes in the costume department. Her hard work eventually paid off with Panchayat, where her character Rinki won hearts nationwide. While the series gave her visibility and new opportunities, her latest statement reminds fans that behind every moment of fame, there are years of quiet struggle.

As Panchayat Season 4 continues to receive love, Sanvikaa’s words add an important layer to the conversation — that success and recognition in the entertainment world often come with silent battles that go unnoticed. And for many like her, the fight for respect is far from over.
