In a revealing interview with film window, Traitors Season 1 winners Urfi Javed and Nikita Luther opened up about their journey, strategies, and reactions to the criticism surrounding their win. Their victory has been widely celebrated as a moment of “girl power” and smart gameplay, particularly for the way both women navigated the show’s mind games and emotional chaos to emerge on top.

Urfi Javed shared that her motivation to win stemmed from personal experiences, especially the negativity and judgments she had faced over her 15-year career. For her, this win was a response to all those who had doubted or “dumped” her. She emphasized that Traitors is not a popularity contest based on fan votes but a show that rewards mental strength and strategic thinking. Her biggest game-changer was the moment she overheard a conversation between Purav and Harsh, which confirmed her suspicions and helped her take a bold step in the final moves. She openly acknowledged that Harsh’s support played a crucial role in her journey, but she also admitted to “betraying” him for the sake of the game. However, she clarified that the show is about “Innocents versus Traitors” and not a “love school,” reinforcing that emotional attachments had to take a back seat in the face of strategy. Addressing Harsh’s “moofat” (outspoken) comment where he said she was not his “janani” (woman), Urfi said it was not intended in a negative light and that Harsh had later apologized sincerely.

Nikita luther, who made a remarkable turnaround from being labeled the “least trusted” to becoming the “most trusted” contestant, spoke about her calculated game. Her refusal to become a Traitor was part of her long-game strategy, and her survival instincts guided her initial approach. She knew that new Traitors would be recruited, so the early game was more about securing her place and building trust. One of her most impactful moves was revealing the exact number of Traitors at a key moment, which helped swing the momentum in favor of the Innocents. Nikita also praised Urfi’s insightful deductions and credited luck and teamwork for their shared win. When faced with critics saying “anyone” could have made it to the finale, both women dismissed such remarks. Urfi reiterated the show’s foundation in strategy over popularity, and Nikita simply stated, “the results speak for themselves.”

The duo also shared playful and honest thoughts about their fellow contestants. Urfi found Jasmin cute and appreciated Jannat for being sweet, while Nikita admired Jasmin’s outfits and described Jannat as innocent. Both felt Karan Kundrra seemed confused and wasn’t himself during the game. On Apoorva, Urfi curtly responded “next,” while Nikita described her as “kaleshi” (quarrelsome). About Purav, Urfi called him “dil ka saaf” (pure-hearted), and Nikita labeled him a mastermind. Urfi teasingly referred to Harsh as a “baklol” (fool), and Nikita described him as very funny. Regarding Sudhanshu, Urfi likened him to the TV character Anupama, while Nikita considered him principled. They both had praise for Alanaaz too, Urfi noted she was “very chalak” (clever), and Nikita said she was a great actor. Nikita also explained that Alanaaz’s emotional bond with a close friend on the show may have made it difficult for her to lie convincingly, which might have affected her gameplay.
