Mumbai, India- Gravate Sports (grv8), founded by RJ Anmol and Puneet Goyal, launched the country’s first CXO Pickleball League, bringing corporate leaders and sports lovers together for a day of high-spirited play. The event’s highlight came when badminton legend Saina Nehwal paired up with real-estate magnate Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani for a friendly doubles match that delighted spectators. In a fun finale, Dr. Hiranandani proudly accepted a racket personally autographed by Saina.
Pickleball, a dynamic blend of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, is surging in popularity around the world, and India is rapidly embracing the trend.
Speaking about its meteoric rise, Saina remarked, “I’ve heard that Pickleball could soon make its way to the Olympics, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it does. So many people are already playing it for fun and fitness.”
She also offered a gentle reminder to enthusiasts: “Play with proper guidance and technique. I’ve noticed quite a few regular players facing injuries.”
The league featured 16 teams and 31 matches, with executives swapping business suits for sports gear to compete in an atmosphere of friendly rivalry and camaraderie, signaling a bright future for Pickleball in India.
