Namita Lal, who has been part of movies like Before Life After Death, Lihaaf, Country Of The Blind, Oxygen, and Football – The Goal, to name a few, and will soon be seen in Inn Galiyon Mein starring Jaaved Jaaferi, believes that people should look presentable, especially when they are stepping out of their homes. However, she did mention that she gets ready for herself and not for anyone else.
“I believe in a lot of things when it comes to style, but in a very flexible way. If you look at my videos on Instagram, you’ll see that the way I dress can be fusion, often very bohemian. I like experimenting with different styles. I’m not very conscious about what people might say. I just like being very comfortable in my own skin. I want to look in the mirror and say, ‘Wow, I’m looking good.’ And that’s when I step out,” she said.
“So, that’s important to me. And I think that’s it. That’s how I live my life, whether I’m in Mumbai, abroad, or anywhere else in the world. It’s just something that I do naturally. I like to present my best form,” she added.
She further shared that she has always been a firm believer in presenting herself in the right way when she is with people. “I always believe that one is responsible in the universe to look their best, to be their best, whether it’s with the best smile, the best eye contact, or the best shining eyes. It doesn’t need to be a designer. It doesn’t need to be high fashion or high makeup. It just needs to be your whole self, the best it can be at that point in time,” she said.
“My story related to this is that a rose is beautiful when it is in full bloom. We look at it and recognize its beauty. It’s the responsibility of the rose to look beautiful, because that’s why it exists in this universe—to make others happy, to make others smile. And how one looks is an important part of that. How one presents oneself is an important part of that,” she added.
Namita even spoke about a video she saw that keeps her motivated to continue doing what she is doing.
“Recently, I saw a video where a very senior Hollywood actress said that you need to make a career out of looking good, looking young, even if you’re doing nothing. I fell in love with that video. I think it’s an important part of our being—to look after ourselves and present our best form,” she ended.
