Indian Cinema has been making a couple of films which have references to God in it. The latest example was Prabhas and Om Raut’s Adipurush which was an adaptation of Hindu epic Ramayana. HanuMan is a superhero film where the hero gets the power of Lord Hanuman to fight injustice.
HanuMan is a superhero film set in a village. HanuMan is the same typical nonsense South Indian film with cheap scenes and cheap writing. HanuMan is unbearable and seems like a torture which increases the level of headache.
This disaster film stumbled very badly, which even Lord Hanuman won’t be able to save it. By using Lord Hanuman’s name and reference, you can’t save a crap film.
Hanumanth (Teja Sajja), who hails from the village Anjanadri, lives with his sister Anjamma (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar) and has a girlfriend Meenakshi (Amritha Aiyer). When Meenakshi revolts against the village chief Gajapathi, the latter attacks Meenakshi, and Hanumanthu also lands in trouble. During this time, Hanumanthu finds the precious stone, Mani, gains superpowers, and uses these powers to protect his village from evil forces. Michael (Vinay Rai), a superhero-obsessed person, learns about the Mani and wants to possess it to abuse the people. Can Hanumanthu stop Michael’s intentions and protect the Mani?
The lead actor Teja Sajja is the worst performer in the film. He doesn’t have that physique nor does look like an actor. His character is not convincing and it is hard to digest that such a person gets the power of Bajrangbali. Even a child actor or newcomer would have delivered better dialogues than him. His pathetic expressions will make you laugh out loud. Amritha Aiyer looks beautiful but doesn’t know how to act. The villain Vinay Rai gives the same expression throughout the film and doesn’t look dangerous at all. The face off between Teja Sajja and Vinay Rai is terribly executed. The rest of the cast is simply irritating.
HanuMan is a low budget film and was in the limelight for having a good VFX despite having a low budget. The VFX of HanuMan is praiseworthy, but the visuals are very repetitive. The VFX of the village which includes Lord Hanuman, mountains, trees and river is shown multiple times and offers nothing new. These visuals look grand for the first time on-screen but are repeated again and again. Another scene where we can see the glimpse of Lord Hanuman is also presented 3 to 4 times. There are also some other scenes which have impressive VFX and look good on the big screen.
A big salute to the makers for presenting great VFX despite having a low budget. The makers of Adipurush wasted 600 crores for cartoonish VFX and the makers of Hanuman have managed to pull off a great VFX in just a limited budget. Just having great VFX can’t save a dull story and that is where HanuMan suffers.
HanuMan lacks logic and has no proper inter connection of any scenes. The screenplay is scattered and follows the same old storyline. HanuMan reminds of old no brainer, senseless cheap South Indian films. HanuMan is totally outdated and is full of mediocrity.
The major problem of HanuMan is its runtime. The film is 158 minutes long and gives a severe headache. The songs are completely unbearable and should have been trimmed. The film has many unnecessary scenes which do not fit in the narrative and are only added to increase the torture.
The direction of Prashanth Varma is terrible. His direction is completely B-Grade. The scenes are poorly presented without having any logic. There are many sequences which will irritate you and will test your patience level.
The writers should be given a nice treatment with Hanuman Ji’s Mace (Gada) for writing such a shit. The characters are dumb. The writing has no basics. The writing is full of flaws from start to end.
The dialogues are so cheap you can’t even beat them. The Malayalam Superhero film ‘Minnal Murali’ has been a landmark film in the Superhero genre. The film beautifully showcased the good vs bad concept by having a superhero theme. HanuMan is not even half of what Minnal Murali was in terms of everything. Minnal Murali was a complete film which had everything like message, entertainment, direction, performances, screenplay. HanuMan looks like a cheap Bhojpuri Superhero film.a second. The Hindi dubbing is horrible. Each and every dialogue has forced comedy which instead of bringing laughter irritates a lot. South films should have proper dubbing so the real essence of original dialogues is present. There have recently been many South films which have awful dialogues. The dialogues are one of the main reasons for HanuMan being an unbearable crap.

Lord HanuMan should come personally and punish the makers of HanuMan for making this film. HanuMan equals to torture and headache. This film is a huge joke on filmmaking hence should be avoided. Watching this film will be a sin. Skip it.
