Over the years, Zee TV has brought audiences some of the most heartfelt stories and with its renewed brand philosophy Aapka Apna Zee TV, the channel is gearing up for another moving narrative. Its upcoming drama Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan highlights the strength, dignity and resilience of a mother who, after being deserted by her husband for not giving birth to a son, chooses to raise her daughters with love and determination. The show features Shubhangi Latkar as Ganga Mai, Srishti Jain as Sahana and Amandeep Sidhu as Sneha.

Set in the holy city of Varanasi, the story has been shot against the spiritual backdrop of its bustling ghats and sacred bylanes. The makers have consciously captured the energy of the city to bring authenticity to the narrative. During the shoot, lead actors Srishti Jain and Amandeep Sidhu visited the world famous Jyotirlinga, the Kashi Vishwanath temple, to seek divine blessings for their show. For both, the visit was more than a ritual, it became a spiritually grounding experience as they prepared to step into the layered lives of their characters.

Immersing themselves in the soul of Varanasi, the actors also attended the Ganga aarti, took serene boat rides and interacted with locals to absorb the spirit of the city. Each of these experiences they say has enriched their understanding of the characters they portray.

Speaking about her experience, Srishti Jain said, “Being part of Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is a blessing in itself. Shooting in Varanasi has been surreal and almost magical. As someone devoted to Mahadev, working here while also seeking his blessings has been unforgettable. The Kashi Vishwanath temple, the glow of the aartis and the calm waters of the Ganga all of it felt like living a prayer. This city does not just leave an impression, it enters your soul and stays.”

Amandeep Sidhu added, “Some shows arrive at just the right moment and for me Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan feels like divine timing. Visiting the Kashi Vishwanath temple before the shoot gave me immense strength and peace. The serenity of the ghats, the stories in the narrow lanes, the warmth of the locals, it all added layers to my performance. Varanasi has a unique stillness hidden within its chaos and beginning this journey here has anchored me as an actor and as a person.”

With Srishti and Amandeep starting this journey on such a spiritual note, Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan promises to touch hearts with its portrayal of motherhood, courage and the unbreakable love between a mother and her daughters.

The show will premiere soon only on Zee TV.
