Zee TV’s Kahaani Har Ghar Ki, anchored by Juhi Parmar, continues to peel back the layers of family life, revealing stories that are often left unspoken. Each episode balances empathy with hard truths, showing that while tradition can bind people together, it can also become a cage.

This week, Juhi steps into the home of Anamika and Akhilesh, a couple living in a tightly controlled joint family. Every rupee spent must first be cleared by the household’s self-appointed “Maalik,” Chacha ji. For the women, even basic personal needs require approval. The tension becomes unmistakable when Anamika must ask for money to buy a sanitary pad, an everyday necessity turned into a humiliating request.

While Anamika bristles at these restrictions, the men of the house, including Akhilesh, celebrate the setup as a proud family tradition. What they call discipline and unity feels, to her, like confinement. Refusing to be silenced, Anamika fires off sharp, witty retorts that make relatives laugh but cut straight to the truth: she wants privacy, respect, and the freedom to make her own choices.

Juhi brings Anamika’s frustration directly to Chacha ji, but instead of understanding, he responds with old-school chauvinism, accusing modern women of preferring makeup to cooking, of hiring help to dodge responsibilities, of choosing restaurant dinners over family duties. His words expose how deep-rooted biases can dismiss women’s dignity as mere rebellion.

Caught between allegiance to his wife and obedience to his family, Akhilesh faces a turning point. Will he stand beside Anamika as she demands equality, or will he let “tradition” silence her once again?

Find out in Kahaani Har Ghar Ki, airing Monday to Friday at 6:30 PM on Zee TV.
