Giddh is directed by National Award winning Director, Manish Saini. The film has Sanjay Mishra in the lead role.

Giddh recently won a prestigious award at the Asia International Competition at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2023. The film has also gained many accolades in the International film festivals.

Giddh is officially selected for the OSCARS in the Best Short Film category.

Giddh (Vulture) generally eats dead animals. The title is perfect for the short film as we see our protagonist making money from dead people.

Each and everyone has to struggle in one or the other way for livelihood. There are many people who do unimaginable jobs and earn bread for them. Many people earn a living through the death business like the ones working in Crematorium, etc. In Giddh, the protagonist earns money by selling clothes of dead people. He goes to the Crematorium, steals the clothes of dead people, washes them and sells them in the market. His hard life makes him do this weird job to earn a living.

Giddh is a hard hitting take on struggle faced by lower class people. We get many things easily, but there is a section of people who have to work hard day and night to earn a living. Majority people do the job they don’t wish to just for the sake of money.

Giddh is a brilliantly crafted film which gives a solid message. The death of people becomes living for a person, such a brilliant take on this realistic thing.

Sanjay Mishra is a wonderful and natural actor, and Giddh proves it again. The film is another superb addition in his great filmography. He hardly has any dialogues. Sanjay Mishra’s expression, silence, eyes, tears, body, etc. do the talking. Giddh shows us the brilliance of Sanjay Mishra. How can one act so natural? Sanjay Mishra is a blessing to Indian Cinema.

Manish Saini’s direction is top-notch. The framework, screenplay, depiction of poverty and reality of lower class people is presented in a solid manner. There are many scenes which show the brilliance of the director. He has kept it real and raw. Manish had a wonderful subject and wonderful actor, and grabbed the opportunity by presenting a hard-hitting and memorable show. There are many memorable frames which have so much to say.

Giddh shows us the reality, struggle and pain of such people. The film is a must watch for all the art lovers who want to witness something realistic and intellectual. The film is too deep and subtle with a solid hard-hitting message. Films like Giddh should be made more often to promote short films and showcase the talent of wonderful directors and actors in our country. A big shoutout to Radhika Lavu for backing such a solid film.

Giddh is a fully satisfying experience of 25 minutes. Investing 25 minutes and getting such a fine product is what a movie lover needs. The content of Giddh is only to the extent of 25 minutes, but its more worthy than that of a 2.5 hours feature film. The presentation is so high class and real that you feel like witnessing all these things in front of your eyes. I hope this film reaches its target audience at the time of its release. Giddh deserves a huge round of applause. A must watch!
