Sanjay Gadhvi who directed Dhoom and Dhoom 2 passed away this morning due to a heart attack. 

Sanjay went on a morning walk at Lokhandwala Backroad. He suffered a heart attack while taking a walk and was rushed to the Kokilaben Hospital. He was declared dead by the doctors at the time of arrival. He took his last breath around 10 am in the morning. 

Sanjay started his career as an assistant director with Salman Khan starrer Patthar Ke Phool in 1991. 

Sanjay made his debut as a director in 2000 with the film ‘Tere Liye’ which bombed at the Box Office. His first collaboration with YRF came in 2002 when he directed Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi.

He then went on to direct Dhoom in 2004 and rose to fame. Sanjay gave YRF its biggest action franchise in the form of Dhoom. Post Dhoom, Sanjay was assigned to direct Dhoom 2 which proved to be a bigger hit than Dhoom.

Sanjay’s direction in Dhoom and Dhoom 2 received immense praise from the audience. 

Post Dhoom 2, Sanjay directed 3 films such as Kidnap (2008), Ajab Gazabb Love (2012) and Operation Parindey (2020).

The details of his funeral are kept under wraps. It has been learnt that the funeral will take place in the evening.
