Stree was released back in 2018 and emerged as a Super-Hit at the Box Office. Stree was a power-packed film with wonderful content. Stree 2 stays on par with Stree in terms of everything, rather it goes one level high in terms of scale and grandeur. The dialogue – O Stree Raksha Karna suits very well, as Stree 2 has come to rescue Bollywood. Stree 2 is all set to emerge as the first Blockbuster of 2024.
Stree introduced the horror comedy genre and its success led to many more films in this genre. Maddock Films came up with Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya after Stree. Apart from Munjya, both the films failed at the Box Office. Stree 2 takes Horror Universe to the next level and will emerge as the first Blockbuster in Horror Universe.
The story of Stree 2 starts where Stree ends. This time the villagers have to face a demon in the form of ‘Sarkata’. Sarkata is a headless creature who abducts women in the town of Chanderi. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) along with his friends Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana) and Jana (Abhishek Banerjee) embark on a mission to save the people of Chanderi. In their mission, they are helped by Shraddha Kapoor (girl with no name). Will the gang succeed in defeating Sarkata? Stree 2 answers this question.
Rajkummar Rao delivers a ‘Rajkummar’ sized performance. He is flawless as Vicky and has gone one notch higher than Stree. Shraddha Kapoor looks gorgeous and so does her performance. This time she gets to perform a lot of action and is seen in a never seen before avatar. Akshay Kumar has a solid cameo and will surprise his fans in the end. Varun Dhawan returns as Bhediya, this time much fierce and stronger. Tamannaah Bhatia gets a glamorous role and owns the screen with her presence. Pankaj Tripathi is hilarious with his unbeatable comic timing. Aparshakti Khurana adds the old charm of Stree. Abhishek Banerjee just gets better and better with every passing film. Anya Singh is decent in her part. The supporting cast does not disappoint.
Amar Kaushik made an extremely promising debut with Stree. With Bala, he made himself unforgettable among the fans. With back to back great films in the form of Stree and Bala, he has raised people’s expectations and then came Bhediya, which was strictly average. With Stree 2 one can easily say that Amar Kaushik is back with a bang. Amar Kaushik has carried forward the legacy of Stree and kept the goodwill intact. He has improved himself and his hardwork is visible in every single frame of Stree 2.
Stree 2 scores very high with the climax portion. The climax takes the film to a whole new level. The makers deserve a lot of credit in connecting horror universe in the best possible way by delivering an unforgettable experience to the audience in the climax. This is amongst one of the most massiest climax, which one will come across. The VFX, set design, action, presentation, everything is top notch.
The screenplay is fast paced, and that’s the reason why 150 minutes don’t feel long. All the scenes are interlinked with each other and writers have perfectly built the tension. The cameos and backstory work a big time for Stree 2.
Stree 2 has many scenes which will remind you of Stree. All these scenes are similar or mostly opposite of what we saw in Stree. The makers tried to play safe by creating the same magic and it worked. Rajkumar Hirani played the same game with Dunki by fitting 3 Idiots in it, but failed miserably. Amar Kaushik beautifully reminds us of Stree in majority of the frames which doesn’t feel boring or repetitive at all.
Stree 2 has great cinematography with many stunning visuals. The makers have made a much superior film than Stree in terms of technical aspects. The visual effects do not look cheap and give a great pleasure to the eyes. Stree 2 is a complete big screen extravaganza. This one is much bigger than its previous part.
The main winner of Stree is its unmatchable background music. The background music is very scary and is enough to give you goosebumps. Stree 2 is much scarier than Stree, and the BGM plays a very important role in this. Stree 2 is the only film in Bollywood which will make you laugh and scared at the same time. The horror scenes are just magical.
Stree 2 has hilarious dialogues and great one liners. The humor level is the same as what we got from Stree. The comedy is very natural and doesn’t seem forced. The jokes will make the audience go crazy.
Stree has a great goodwill and Stree 2 keeps the level intact with its powerful storytelling and killer presentation. The makers have pulled an impossible and have matched the prequel in terms of quality. Stree 2 is a perfect family entertainer which Bollywood was searching for a long time.
Stree 2 is a must watch for Bollywood lovers, as we hardly get such films of superior quality with proper dose of entertainment. This is a perfect mixture of class as well as mass and will connect with every age group of audience. A must must watch.
