Shankar and Kamal Haasan are back with a sequel to their Classic film Hindustani. Hindustani was released in 1996 and became a huge success critically as well as commercially. Hindustani 2 is that sequel which no one asked for. Shankar has murdered the goodwill of Hindustani with his pathetic storytelling. There are some Classic films, whose sequel should never be made and Hindustani is one of them. After watching the film there will be zero tolerance from the audience. Along with corruption, release of such films should also be stopped.

Kamal Haasan fought against corruption and killed his own corrupted son in Hindustani. The major question arises is that where was Senapathy for 28 years? Corruption is a never ending thing, and as shown in the film there were many people killed due to corruption, so how can a person like Senapathi tolerate this for 28 years? He comes back when a group of young guys start trending #ComebackIndia on social media. Was Senapathi blind or was he sleeping for those 28 years? The entire idea of moving forward the story was unconvincing. The film is full of flaws, and an entire article can be written to point out such mistakes. All the movie lovers should trend #WeDontWantIndian3 on social media.

Kamal Haasan is the same old Senapathi which we saw in Hindustani. He does nothing different in his character. Kamal’s performance is also not able to save this sinking ship. Siddharth gets a badly written character who does overacting in many scenes. Rakul Preet is only there for namesake without leaving any mark. The remaining cast, consisting of many popular faces, also fails to deliver.

Shankar has made many social message based films like Hindustani, Mudhalvan. Aparichit, Nayak, Sivaji, etc. Shankar has always added new flavors to his films in the past, and that’s the reason the same theme did not feel boring or repetitive in his previous films. The old Shankar is definitely missing nowadays. Shankar has been a visionary director who has always made films ahead of its time. His way to convey the message in a commercial manner has always been his USP. Hindustani 2 which was made on a big scale needed a broader vision. There are some sequences where Shankar has tried to create something huge, but that thing has been backfired here. His films are rich in scale and visuals, but Hindustani 2 is a poor form of filmmaking.

The writers have done a terrible job by writing such an outdated script. The punishment scenes are very childish. This is a long boring dull script with no substance. This is a complete soulless script without serving any motive.

Anirudh’s music is disappointing. The music and theme of Senapathy looked like a cheap copy of Vikram’s music. The songs are shot on a grand scale with eye pleasing visuals, but lack the tunes. The songs unnecessarily increase the length.

Hindustani 2 is that sequel which no one had asked for. The magic created by Hindustani was on a next level. Hindustani 2 is nowhere close to the first part. If Hindustani was best, this is worst. This seems like a forced sequel, which is only made for the sake of making money by using the goodwill of Hindustani.

The worst part about this 3 hour long film is that it does not reach any conclusion. The makers shamelessly waste 3 hours and make a big joke for the audience. The story takes too much time to build-up and crashes very badly. Kamal Haasan says at the end, that he will be back again and Hindustani 3 is announced. We don’t want him to come back with another disastrous show which will only torture the audience.

The action sequences are highly disappointing. Looks like Shankar has made an action comedy film, where you laugh out loud at all those silly action stunts. Each and every action scene reminds you of those typical South Indian illogical action sequences.

The film is full of melodramatic segments. The emotional scenes also don’t work well in the narrative. This is a roller-coaster ride of outdated elements. The makers end the film the same as The Dark Knight. In The Dark Knight, Batman is misunderstood and shown as the villain in the end, only to showcase his comeback as a hero in The Dark Knight rises. The makers have followed the same pattern by showing Hindustani as a villain (from people’s point of view) in the end, only to show his rise in the 3rd part. Such a pathetic piece of work was not expected from the duo of Kamal Haasan and Shankar.

Hindustani kills and injures people with his Varma Kala (a form of martial arts) by just using 2 fingers, whereas the makers kill our time and damage our minds with this torturous show, and in that sense the damage is common both on-screen and off-screen. By Varma Kala, a manager transforms into a woman and turns into an animal. The whole presentation of the Varma Kala part was extremely cheap.

If you watch Hindustani 2, Senapathi himself will come to punish you. Senapathy’s Varma Kala will also find it difficult to bring you out from this trauma, if you watch it. This is a next level torture where you will find zero tolerance. Along with corruption, release of such films should also be stopped, otherwise it will damage the goodwill of Indian Cinema.
