Kangana Ranaut’s struggle of delivering a good film continues with Tejas. Kangana has been delivering back to back poor content films and Tejas is the latest addition to the list. If Tiku Weds Sheru was not enough, Kangana has cursed Bollywood with another crap film like Tejas.

Tejas takes off without a clue and badly crashes off while landing. Tejas is a big disaster and a total letdown in each and every department. The mission of balancing patriotism and women empowerment proves to be unsuccessful.

Tejas revolves around the extraordinary journey of Tejas Gill (Kangana Ranaut), an Air Force pilot who is on a mission to rescue hostages from terrorists.

Kangana Ranaut is a wonderful actor but she is wasting her potential and talent by choosing poor scripts. Kangana’s dialogue delivery looks so childish in Tejas. She tries to be loud in intense scenes but fails terribly. The character of Tejas needed class but Kangana ended up being crass. She is overacting in most of the scenes which is very irritating. This is a complete dull show put on by Kangana. Kangana could have shined bright with her performance by doing justice to the title of the film, but badly misses the opportunity. Varun Mitra gets a small and sweet role. The script doesn’t give him much scope to prove himself. His performance feels boring. Ashish Vidyarthi is completely wasted. Anshul Chauhan gets a decent screen space but acts weirdly. She is competing with Kangana in terms of overacting. The supporting cast is annoying.

The direction of Sarvesh Mewara is pathetic and deserves a heavy bashing. The direction is below par and doesn’t follow any proper route. There are no proper conclusions provided to any of the scenes. The vision of Sarvesh seemed to be very ordinary, outdated and narrow.

The film has many flaws in its writing, performances and direction. The writers did not have any basic knowledge and their level of dumbness is clearly visible on-screen. There are many things connected to the Indian Air Force which have not been shown in a correct and convincing way. The writing fails to create any tension. There is not a single scene which keeps the audience invested and makes them excited for the next sequence.

Tejas despite having a short runtime of 118 minutes feels like a never ending stressful ride. The short runtime is also one of the best things as we don’t have to tolerate this for a long time. Each and every passing minute becomes challenging for the viewers. The first half has songs which break the momentum and increase the level of headache. A lackluster script like Tejas needed a little more trimming to reduce the amount of atrocities on viewers.

Tejas is a big disappointment in terms of visual effects. The VFX and effects look extremely poor on the big screen. Tejas instead of being a visual spectacle spoils the experience and mood of the viewers. A film like Tejas should have been presented on a grand and lavish scale. The battle sequence at the end looks so unreal on-screen.

The biggest problem of Tejas is that it completely focuses on Kangana Ranaut and nothing else. In order to present Kangana in a larger than life avatar (which is only possible in fictional and superhero films), the makers completely ruined the whole project. Kangana tries to be as loud as a man in each and every scene which just harms the narrative. Kangana instead of acting naturally tries to be massy which doesn’t suit her at all.

Kangana tries to accomplish 3 missions at the same time and creates a big mess out of it. The climax sequence is completely intolerable with no logic at all. The visual effects and poor VFX threatens the eyes. The unnecessary loud BGM threatens the ears. The presentation is immature and unacceptable. This has to be one of the worst and clueless climaxes to come out of Bollywood.

Tejas celebrates the sacrifice, and bravery of our soldiers but in an ineffective way. Tejas needed a strong and powerful presentation to keep the audience hooked and raise the feeling of pride.

Tejas celebrates the valor of a woman but in a mild way. The women empowerment part is not compelling at all. The patriotism shown in Tejas is a complete misfire. Tejas with a good script and better director would have been a sensational film. In the name of women empowerment and patriotism, Tejas is another forcefully made film which no one asked for.

Tejas tries to be URI by adding jingoism. Ronnie Screwvala should understand that each and every cannot become URI. He has made films like Swades and Rang De Basanti which have been the pride of Indian Cinema and here he is making films like Tejas which is a big shame for Indian Cinema.

Tejas is that film who takes off without any clue just to crash badly while landing. Tejas instead of shining bright ends up leaving a dark spot in the cinema. The makers have fooled audiences and have pulled one of the biggest scams of the year by naming this film Tejas. Tejas is all set to damage your belief in cinema. Tejas won’t provide any thrill but will surely kill your precious time and money. This ride should be skipped at any cost to avoid a major accident.
