Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani collaborated once again after the Blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Satyaprem Ki Katha was labeled as the Biggest Musical Romantic film of the year. Makers had worked very hard on creating the wonderful music album and the grand sets.
The anticipation was good among the movie watching audience for Satyaprem Ki Katha and the trailer and songs were received well by the audience.
This year Bollywood has seen only 3 hit films in the form of Pathaan, The Kerala Story and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Pathaan became the 1st Bollywood film to cross 400 cr, 450 cr and 500 cr at the Box Office and emerged as an All Time Grosser. The Kerala Story also emerged as an All time blockbuster and recorded historic collections. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was a surprise hit at the Box Office. The film has now emerged as a super hit and is still running in cinemas.
Satyaprem Ki Katha had a good opening day of 9.25cr nett at the Domestic Box Office. The film was released on Thursday where it enjoyed the benefit of Bakri-Eid (holiday). The film gathered a good pickup in the evening and night shows and WOM also played an important role.
The film was designed as a family rom-com and also had a social message which har recorded in good collections on day 1. The music has also played an important role in the collections.
This is Kartik’s 3rd highest opener after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (14.11 cr) and Love Aaj Kal (12 cr). The film has emerged as the 6th highest opener for Kiara Advani.
The film should remain steady in the weekend to post a good total in its opening weekend. The film will easily collect 30 cr+ in its opening weekend. The film must pass the Monday test and should hold good to become a success at the Box Office. Will Bollywood get its 4th hit of the year? We will come to know in the coming days.
As there is no big film releasing in coming weeks, Satyaprem Ki Katha will enjoy a free run at the Box Office. The next Bollywood biggie is Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani releasing on 28th July.
