Kartik Aaryan is amongst one of the emerging actors in Bollywood. Over the years, Kartik has developed a great fan following among the youth audience.
Kartik has done many rom-com films in his career and has also tasted success at the Box Office. The image of Kartik among the Bollywood audience is of a romantic and chocolate boy. People have also loved Kartik’s hilarious comic timing.
Out of all the films which Kartik has done, Freddy and Dhamaka stand out in terms of performance. Kartik went out of his comfort zone and delivered solid performances in these films. People got to see a different version of Kartik Aaryan in Dhamaka and Freddy. He also delivered his top 2 performances in these films. But the saddest part was, the audience did not get to witness these performances on the big screen, as both the films were released on OTT.
Kartik Aaryan is once again coming up with Chandu Champion, which can be labeled as the most challenging role ever played by him. Kartik’s mental and physical transformation is visible. He has pushed himself and has gotten into the skin of character. This is the first time, when audiences will witness a different version of Kartik Aaryan on the big screen.
Chandu Champion is the biopic of India’s first Paralympic Gold Medalist, Murlikant Petkar. It is an emotional and inspiring journey of a man who never gave up on his dreams.
We at Film Window got a chance to do an exclusive interview with Kartik Aaryan for Chandu Champion.
Q] You have acted in films like Dhamaka and Freddy, where you went out of your comfort zone and played powerful characters, but audiences were unlucky to not witness it on the big screen. Now finally you are coming back with another powerful character in Chandu Champion, and this time it’s a theatrical film, so how is that feeling?
Ans – I remember many people saying to me that Freddy should have been released on the big screen. Freddy got immense love from the audience. Freddy and Dhamaka were those films whose script was very interesting. My comedy films kept on working at the Box Office and people loved my comic timing. There are still many people who tell me to do rom-coms and I tell them I’ll do it when I like the script. I made a decision after reading the script, not thinking much about the genre. I loved the script of Freddy and I did not think about the genre at that time. I was like, I have loved the script and I want to play this character. When Chandu Champion came to me, I loved the script and it was an inspiring story. Kabir sir makes theatrical films and we have shot it in the same way. Chandu Champion is meant for the big screen. This film has a larger than life persona. It is an inspirational journey full of many ups and downs. There are many sports shown in the film. You will love to watch it on the big screen with BGM and this is the X-Factor. This is not a complete sports film. This film tells the journey of a human triumph. This is a story of a person achieving his dream and sacrifices he/she makes to achieve that dream. It’s a beautiful, positive story.
Chandu Champion is directed by Kabir Khan. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan. The film stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. The film is all set to release on 14th June.
