We at Film Window got a chance to do an exclusive interview with Varun Sood. In this interview he spoke about the show, his preparation and training.

Q] What is this show about?

Ans – It’s a show which is based in Chennai. It’s a story of friendship and brotherhood of 2 cadets who are currently in OTA (Officers Training Academy). This show is about determination, brotherhood, love and patriotism for the country. We have shown the life of a cadet and how it is tough for them emotionally, physically and mentally. Despite all the hardships, waking up every single day with the same patriotism  for the country and going through all the difficulties for the country, this show is about all these things.

Q] What’s so special about this show?

Ans – I want that, this show inspires the youth to join the Indian Army. I feel that whoever from the Indian Army watches this will be able to connect with it. They will feel nostalgic and this show will make them remember their academy days.

Q] What training did you undergo for your role?

Ans – When I was offered this show, I was shooting for Call Me Bae. I was around 100 kgs during my shooting for Call Me Bae. I informed my parents about this show. I told my dad, that I am doing a show related to Indian Army. The first thing my dad advised was to cut my hair and lose weight. A cadet does not has long hairs and does not look muscular. I had to undergo a proper athletic training. I had to do ropework for my character. It took a lot of hard work to look like a cadet.

Varun Sood’s next ‘Naam Namak Nishan’ is all set to stream from tomorrow only on Amazon Mini TV for free. Varun also has Prime Video’s Call Me Bae in his kitty which will be released next month.

Naam Namak Nishan also stars Danish Sood, Karan Vohra, Helly Shah and Roshni Walia. The show is produced by Juggernaut Productions and directed by Vikram Ghai & Shashank Bharadwaj.
