Saiyami Kher’s upcoming film Ghoomer is all set to release. Saiyami plays the role of a paraplegic sportsperson, a cricketer who has lost her right hand in an accident.
Saiyami is a diehard cricket lover and wee have seen the cricket geek in her posts, tweets, interviews, commentaries, etc.
We got a chance to do an exclusive interview with Saiyami for Ghoomer, where she discussed cricket and films.
Saiyami told us how she prepared for her role and how Murali Kartik helped her while prepping.
Saiyami is not a diehard Sachin admirer but a devotee of God Of Cricket.
Saiyami Kher revealed she loves the bowling action of Bishan Singh Bedi.
Saiyami said that she is a huge fan of Ravichandran Ashwin and called him innovative.
Q] Whose bowling action do you admire?
Ans – If you talk about batting, there is one and only God of Cricket – Sachin Tendulkar whom I admire the most. With regards to the action of a left arm bowler, I feel Bishan Singh Bedi sir has been ultimate with regards to his beauty. The beauty which he has in his loop no one else has. Murali Kartik trained me for this film and he has a very orthodox and beautiful action. But I am a huge fan of Ravichandran Ashwin. Ash is called a cricket scientist and he is very innovative. His action is not a classical one but it’s very innovative. He bowls back flipper, googly, carrom ball and many more. I sent him videos while I was training and he was pretty impressed. I am cricket geek and while bowling with my left arm I was bowling chinaman, I was bowling googly and was not able to bowl the carrom ball as my hands are small. Ashwin also told me that it’s his dream that he also wants to bowl with both hands. I am waiting to show him the film.
Ghoomer is all set to release on 18th August. Ghoomer also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi. The film is directed by R Balki.
