Surbhi Jyoti who has recently acted in Disney+ Hotstar’s thriller series Gunaah is getting immense praise from the viewers for her amazing portrayal. She was seen in a very grey character which she had never attempted before in her career.
Surbhi has acted in a couple of Punjabi films. She had established herself in the entertainment industry by acting in TV serials.
She rose to fame with Zee TV’s serial Qubool Hai. She played the role of Zoya, for which she received immense praise. Qubool Hai turned out to be a gamechanger for Surbhi. She also played the lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3.
We at Film Window got a chance to do an exclusive interview with Surbhi in regard to her new show Gunaah. Each and every actor has a bucket list or wishlist of directors whom they wish to work with and even Surbhi has her bucket list.
Q] Which people are there in your bucket list?
Ans – My bucket list has a lot of people. I want to work with good people. I really want to work with Zoya Akhtar, Imtiaz Ali and Shoojit Sircar. All these people are really amazing. I want to work with Karan Johar. I want to work with good directors. They all work on characters. My bucket list includes good people. I want to work with a good team.
Q] TV actors have faced a lot of struggle in the past, is this thing still a problem nowadays?
Ans – I don’t think that is a problem nowadays. I think that at present, we are in a very good space and every actor is getting an opportunity on the basis of their calibre and talent. The time has changed. In the past it was like that if he/she is a TV actor they won’t be able to work in a film. Now people have realised that a person who has worked only in films doesn’t mean that he/she is a good actor and if a person works only in Television doesn’t mean that he/she is not a good actor. The times are changing and I am very glad that this is happening.
