OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam is all set to release tomorrow.

We had a chance to do an exclusive interview with Pankaj Tripathi, where he spoke about What is important? – character or story, Journey from playing a small role to playing a lead role, OMG 2 getting A certificate and much more.

Pankaj Tripathi was asked about, what matters to him the most, a character or a story?

He was also asked about how it feels to play lead roles in films nowadays and how his journey has been over the years. He started his career by playing small roles and with hard work, passion and talent he has reached a certain height.

OMG 2 was in the headlines for a long time and also faced censorship issues. The film deals with the topic of Sex Education in connection to God. The film got an ‘A’ certificate and some necessary changes were made. Pankaj Tripathi also spoke about how he feels about the film getting ‘A’ certificate.

Q] What matters to you the most, Character or Story?

Ans – For me story is more important than the Character. A story must be entertaining and should have a thought provoking message. The story should be entertaining enough and should not become an art film. No matter how powerful the character is, if the story is not good your film won’t work.

Q] How has your journey been from playing a small role to playing a lead role?

Ans-  This is the best part about this industry that an actor who used to appear in small roles has now come to such highs that he is being casted as a lead actor. Everything seems to be possible in today’s time. The industry has changed and after the uprising of OTT platforms the taste of the audience hai changed. I never imagined that I will get a chance to play the lead role in my career.

Q] What are your thoughts about OMG 2 getting ‘A’ certificate from Censor Board?

Ans- Yes, I’m disappointed with OMG 2 getting ‘A’ certificate. It’s very unfortunate. Our film is meant for children who are above the age of 12. The target audiences of the film were the children, but unfortunately we can’t do anything in it.
