Shah Rukh Khan has ruled the year 2023 like a King. With Pathaan, it was not only SRK’s comeback but it was a comeback for Bollywood in true sense.
Pathaan revived the Bollywood Box Office and inaugurated 400 cr, 450 cr and 500 cr clubs for Bollywood. With Jawan, SRK broke his own record of Pathaan in the same year.
SRK became the only Bollywood actor to deliver back to back All Time Grosser, back to back 500 cr films in India and back to back 1000 cr films worldwide.
SRK’s 3rd release of the year, Dunki also collected a respectable total. Dunki collected more than 450 cr worldwide.
With Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, SRK became the only Indian actor to collect 2600 cr worldwide in a single year. SRK has created a record which will be unbeatable for many years.
SRK’s last Blockbuster was Chennai Express in 2013 and his last clean hit was Happy New Year in 2014.
Post Happy New Year, each and every film of SRK underperformed at the Box Office. Dilwale, Fan, Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero failed to perform at the Box Office until Pathaan came and smashed every existing record.
SRK was present at the CNN-News 18 Awards 2023. SRK was honored with ‘Indian Of The Year’ award.
During his speech at the award show, SRK spoke about hardships which he and his family faced in the last few years.
While speaking about his bad phase at the Box Office, SRK said, “The last four, five years have been a bit of a ride for me and my family. I am sure some of you also because of Covid and stuff. Most of my films flopped, a lot of specialists and analysts started writing my death knell, and some idiots did the same, which actually is the same thing, analysts and idiots. Not something that I really bother about.”
While speaking about his personal problems and the Aryan Khan matter, SRK said, “At a personal level, a little bit of bothersome and unpleasant things also happened to say the least, which made me learn a lesson that be quiet, be very quiet, and work hard with dignity. When you think everything is good and still know it in your heart when everything is good, suddenly, out of nowhere, life may come and hit you.”
SRK concluded by saying, “I don’t just feel like the Indian of the year. I am an Indian of all the ages gone by. I will be the Indian of all the years to come. I am an Indian of all ages.”
The above statement of SRK received a huge round of applause by the audience.
SRK proved himself in 2023 and regained his top position. SRK has been an inspiration for many and will remain so, for many more generations to come.
