Ravindra Mahajani was a popular and big name in the Marathi Industry. He is the father of famous television actor Gashmeer Mahajani. Ravindra was born in Belgaum and was son of a famous journalist.
The actor passed away at the age of 77. He was found dead in his rented flat in Pune.
According to the reports, neighbors had informed police about the foul smell coming from his house. Police when reached at the location, found his house locked. Police then broke into his house and found his dead body. The apartment owner identified the body of Mahajani. It was learned that he could have died two to three days ago. The reason for his death seems to be unknown.
A police official said, “Our team broke the door and found Mahajani dead inside the flat. The body was sent to Talegaon Dabhade hospital for autopsy.”
It was learned that Ravindra was living in the flat alone for the past 8 months.
Ravindra’s son Gashmeer has been informed about the death of his father.
Ravindra Mahajani was known as Vinod Khanna of Marathi Cinema due to his resemblance with the Bollywood Actor.
Ravindra started his career in 1969 along with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Saat Hindustani. Ravindra’s last appearance was in the Bollywood film Panipat directed by Ashutosh Gowariker where he played the role of Malharrao Holkar.
Some of his popular and notable works are Aaram Haram Aahe (1976), Duniya Kari Salam’ (1979), Gondhalat Gondhal (1981), Laxmichi Paule (1982), Devta (1983), Mumbaicha Fauzdar (1984), Sarja (1987), Unaad Maina (1988), Goonj (1989), Kalat Nakalat (1989), Jagavegali Paij (1992), etc.
