The Kerala Story was in the headlines and in news for its controversial subject. 2 days ago the Hon. PM of our country Mr. Narendra Modi had also referred to The Kerala Story. The Kerala Story has a very high buzz among the people. The positive Word of Mouth has come into the picture and has converted into the footfalls.
The Kerala Story opened at the Box Office with 8.03 crores nett and shocked the entire trade and the industry. The 2nd day saw a growth of 39.73% in the collections and the film collected 11.22 cr nett at the Domestic Box Office. The collections on Sunday were in the range of 16cr seeing a growth of 42.60% in collections from the previous day. The film is made on a budget of approx 25 crores and the film has surpassed the budget in 3 days. The Kerala Story has seen an upward trending collection in the weekend. Monday is very crucial for the film and if it passes the Monday test then sky’s the limit.
Despite the film clashing with the Hollywood film Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 at the Box Office, it has collected very well. The IPL fever is also going in the nation and despite these 2 clashes the film has done remarkably well. Before the release no one had imagined that the film will collect this much amount but it has surprised everyone.
The Kerala Story had been compared with The Kashmir Files by many. The Kashmir Files had collected 27.15 crores nett in its opening weekend and collected 252.90 cr nett in its lifetime Box Office run. We will have to wait and see how much will be the lifetime collection of The Kerala Story.
Before the release there were some questions being raised – Are people ready for such kinds of films? Is this film really the need of the hour? Are people able to digest such kinds of stuff? And the film has emerged a success at the Box Office.
