Bollywood icon Salman Khan recently gave a warm shout out to his ex-Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha, praising her new supernatural thriller Nikita Roy. Sharing the film’s poster on Instagram and X, Salman fondly addressed Sonakshi as “Sonakshi devi bani #NikitaRoy”, indicating appreciation for her portrayal of the lead character. He requested the fans to go see the film, tweeting: “Looking forward to this film… aap bhi jaake dekho, kal release hai! All the best to the team… kill it.”
Sonakshi, moved by the act, reposted the message on her Instagram story with: “18th July… Go for it.” The movie, directed by her brother Kussh S Sinha, features her as an investigator who seeks to debunk supernatural scams. With Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal, she plays the role of Nikita Roy and takes on spooky and mystifying cases. The movie release had been delayed from June 27 and will now be screened on July 18.
For Sonakshi as well as Salman, this conversation holds an emotional significance. Sonakshi made her debut alongside Salman in the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Meanwhile, Salman is completely engaged in his subsequent project, Battle of Galwan, a much-awaited patriotic war drama helmed by Apoorva Lakhia. Based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the movie will have Salman playing the role of Colonel B. Santosh Babu, with a release in January 2026 scheduled.
