The press conference of Filmfare Awards was held at Mumbai. The Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan attended the press conference and spoke about various topics. Salman Khan revealed that how award shows started paying money to the stars performing and hosting in an award show.
While talking about it Salman said, “I will tell you, my first ever Filmfare performance, I would not take the name of the editor at that point in time because it was just after my repair, you can figure it out who it was. I was told I should come for the Filmfare Award and that the award was going to be given to me. I went there with my father. My father was a student. Whole family went there. Beautiful and then was the nominations were announced. Best actor goes to Salman Khan. I stood up. Then another name was taken. Then another name was taken and the award went to Jackie Shroff for Parinda. Because I was told this, I was told this, okay, I was going to get it. My dad said, you can. Anyway, I was to perform that night for the first time. I went backstage and I said, This is something I cannot do because it’s not done. I don’t care. I don’t care at all. Jackie’s got it. He was damn good. But you shouldn’t have done this with me. This is it. My father’s friend, you should have never done this.”
He further added by saying, “When I said, Now, but you have to perform. I said, I cannot perform. He said, But you know what? I’ll pay you for this performance. I said, How much? You give me a figure. I said, What happens in this much? Little more, little more. I had to be substantial figure at that point of time. That was the first time, five times then. Five times. Five times. Then he said, Please don’t tell anyone. I said, This is the wrong person. You don’t need to tell anyone. There was, I think, Juhi (Juhi Chawla) and Akki (Akshay Kumar) there on backstage. I told them that this cheque has came to me for my performance and you also talk them about yours. That was the first time that any award function has paid for a performance. in campus work care return. So our job, our work functions, for performances, for the hosting, we make money. Every time they use to make us perform was for the greed of an award. All the credit of money which we are making by performing and hosting in these award shows goes to the editor who was present at that time.”
68th Filmfare Awards will be held on 27th April, 2023. The awards will be telcasted on 28th April on Colors TV at 9 pm. Salman Khan is all set to host this mega event. Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen performing in the event.
