In a breathtaking and emotional turn of events, Bollywood power couple Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to Vrindavan’s revered Shri Keli Kunj Ashram in Mathura, where they met with the widely respected spiritual guru, Premanand Ji Maharaj. In a moment that has since captured the nation’s attention, Raj Kundra, clearly moved by the guru’s plight, offered something extraordinary, one of his own kidneys to the saint. This heartfelt proposal left everyone present stunned, not least Shilpa herself.
During their meeting, Premanand Maharaj revealed that both of his kidneys had ceased functioning, and he had been managing this condition for a full decade. Moved by this revelation, Raj Kundra declared: “I’ve been following you for the past two years. I have no questions, because your videos always answer any doubts or fears I have. You are an inspiration to everyone. I know about your health condition, and if I can help, one of my kidneys is yours.” The guru responded with admiration and warmth: “It’s enough for me that you stay happy. Until the call comes, we won’t leave this world because of a kidney. But I accept your goodwill from the heart.”
Adding another spiritual layer to the encounter, Shilpa Shetty inquired about the potency of chanting “Radha” as a spiritual remedy. Maharaj recommended that chanting the name with devotion can helps get rid of troubles, and also suggested they visit the nearby Shri Radha Rani Temple in Barsana. The couple followed his advice, and outside the temple, Shilpa remarked that she felt truly blessed and serene after the ‘darshan.’
In the midst of this stirring spiritual episode, there’s a cloud of controversy surrounding the couple. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are currently facing serious legal allegations, slew of ₹60 crore fraud charges. Businessman Deepak Kothari has accused them of defrauding him between 2015 and 2023 through a loan-cum-investment scheme tied to their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.
Their defense has been swift and categorical. Their advocate, Prashant Patil, has labeled the allegations as “baseless and malicious,” emphasizing that the matter had already been adjudicated by Mumbai’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as of October 4, 2024. He further stated that the company is under liquidation, and requisite documentation supporting the couple’s innocence has been submitted to the police multiple times in the past year.
