Anurag Kashyap is back, and this time he’s leaving behind polished city stories to dive into the raw heart of India. The teaser for his new film Nishaanchi bursts with dust, roaring bikes, street fights, and an unapologetic celebration of small-town chaos. It feels like a love letter to the messy, colourful side of desi life that Kashyap has always captured so well.

In his own teasing words “Tayyari kar di hai! Emosan ka tadka, actsan ka dhamaka, aur gulel, katta, gaadi, ghoda toh hai hi bhaiya”, he promises emotion, action, and all the desi masala his fans expect, through his social media.

The spotlight is firmly on Aaishvary Thackeray, grandson of the late Balasaheb Thackeray, who makes his acting debut in a double role. He plays Babloo, a street-smart and daring young man, and Dabloo, a softer, obedient version of himself. Both characters look alike but couldn’t be more different in nature. Vedika Pinto plays Rinku, a fiery and fearless young woman who matches Babloo’s confidence at every step. The cast also includes Monika Panwar as the caring yet determined mother, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as the unpredictable Kamaal Ajeeb, and Kumud Mishra as the mysterious and calm Ambika Chacha. Together, they form a mix of personalities that promise a gripping story. Just like every Anurag Kashyap movie.

In just a minute and a half, the teaser gives us a rollercoaster of feelings i.e. laughter, drama, tension, and adrenaline. It shows a world where dance shares space with gunfire, friendships are tested, and betrayal comes from where you least expect it. Many fans are already comparing its energy to Gangs of Wasseypur, one of Kashyap’s most loved works. The similarities are clear, larger-than-life characters, grey morals, and storytelling that doesn’t play safe.

In a time when most films are glossy and safe, Nishaanchi feels fresh. It is rooted in the soil, unfiltered, and full of life. Kashyap’s world is not neat or perfect, here, emotions are loud, fights are messy, and relationships are as explosive as the action. When Nishaanchi releases on September 19, 2025, expect a story that blends old-school desi drama with Kashyap’s fearless style. It will be a ride where every smile hides a secret and every bullet has an emotion behind it.
