The action packed trailer of Bloody Daddy was launched at an event in Mumbai. Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar discussed the journey of making this film. Shahid Kapoor is presented in a never seen before avatar in Bloody Daddy. Shahid was excited for being a part of a stylish and out and out action film for the 1st time in his career.
Shahid while speaking about doing an out and out action film said, “Doing an out-an-out action film was something I have been wanting to do but I was waiting for the right one to come my way. When Ali came to me with this project, I knew this was it! It’s high octane, it’s action packed, it’s thrilling, it’s intense, created especially for a digital first audience.”
He further added by saying, “Ali is a true master when it comes to this style of films, and it’s been very enriching for me to partner with him on this. We really love what we have created together and are bloody excited to see the audience reaction now.”
Shahid Kapoor also spoke about how Ali has presented him in the film. While addressing the same he said, “I told Ali, you’ve been doing action for so many years, and all your actors look hot doing it. Do the same with me. So the whole credit goes to Ali. He understands how to bring action that is cinematic, gritty, not like an amusement park where people are flying here and there. Of course, that also works. That’s what he also wanted to do. It is also a very interesting combination of characters that are emotionally driven and the ambience of the world that they are part of. Those two things go hand in hand in a subject like this. So Ali really brought his A-game to this project.”
He also added by saying, “We planned Bloody Daddy three years ago, when Covid had started. It was a time when it was very difficult to make films of a certain size and scale. Ali has a great production team. We were able to shoot this film in one go. We faced many challenges. The best part is none of that shows and hence it’s a very cherished film. Ali is a fantastic filmmaker. He understands this genre better than I do. It’s a privilege to have him design my first actioner.”
Ali also spoke about Shahid performing action and said, “With Shahid, one thing which was never a problem was the action. He has a great understanding of movement and dance. Action is all about rhythm. The action unit was like wow, he has such a great process of understanding. 99% of the action in the film is real and he has done it all.”
The film was shot in just 36 days and Shahid said he was amazed by Ali and said he doesn’t know how Ali managed to mount this film on such a scale.
Bloody Daddy is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. The film also stars Diana Penty, Ronit Bose Roy, Sanjay Kapoor and Rajeev Khandelwal. The film will be available on Jio Cinema from 9th June for free.
