Veteran Actor and Filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66. He died due to heart attack in Gurugram at Fortis Hospital. He was last seen celebrating Holi 2 days ago at Javed Akhtar’s residence Janki Kutir.

Satish Kaushik started his career acting in theatre. He then went on to became a part of many memorable Hindi films. He has also directed some films in Bollywood.

The funeral process of Satish Kaushik will take place today at 5 pm from his residence in Mumbai.

Satish Kaushik made his debut in Bollywood in 1983 with the Iconic Film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He also acted in the Masterpiece Film Masoom directed by Shekhar Kapur in the same year.

He then went on to became a part of many memorable films in the decade of 80s. The list includes Saagar, Mr. India, Ram Lakhan and many more.

In 90s decade he acted in films like Andaz, Saajan Chale Sasural, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, etc.

In 2000s decade he worked in films like Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai,
Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa, Chal Mere Bhai, Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Kyo Kii Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, etc.

In 2010s decade he acted in films like Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Rascals, Double Dhamaal, Udta Punjab, Namaste England, Yamla Pagla Deewana – Phir Se, Fanney Khan, Soorma, Judgementall Hai Kya,
Bharat, etc.

He started this decade with acting in films like Chhalaang, Khaali Peeli, Baaghi 3, Sharmaji Namkeen, Thar and Chhatriwali.

His last film was Chhatriwali which streamed directly on Zee5.

He was best known for his roles as Calendar in Mr. India, Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana, Mutthu Swamy in Saajan Chale Saural, etc.

He had directed 14 films in Bollywood. His first film as a director was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja which released in 1993. His biggest hit film as a director was Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999) which starred Anil Kapoor and Kajol in lead roles followed by Muje Kucch Kehna Hai (2001) which had Kareena Kapoor and debutant Tusshar Kapoor in lead roles. His most critical film as director was Salman Khan starrer Tere Naam which came in 2003. His last directorial film was Kaagaz starring Pankaj Tripathi which streamed on Zee5.

He wrapped up shooting of his next directorial Kaagaz 2 which is a sequel to his last directorial film Kaagaz and stars Anupam Kher in the lead role.

He will be next seen acting in films like Emergency which is directed by Kangana Ranaut where he plays the role of Jagjivan Ram (late defence minister). He will also be seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Kaagaz 2.
