Rumors in the trade have been that Vikrant Massey would be leaving the much-awaited movie Don 3 in which Ranveer Singh is playing the lead role. Though there has been no confirmation from either the actor or the producers, reports are doing the rounds that Massey, who was allegedly being eyed for a critical role of an antagonist, might not be a part of the film anymore. Sources indicate that Massey was approached for the role of a suave scamster-type villain, which involved rehearsing extensively for action sequences and physical metamorphosis. It is, however, thought that the actor opted out of the film because of anxiety regarding the character’s development and depth. It has been reported that Massey didn’t find the position creatively fulfilling and chose not to get involved in a project that wasn’t compatible with his career objectives.
Since the commotion surrounding Massey’s alleged exit, Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur’s names have emerged as potential actors to take over his role. But sources close to the production dismissed the rumors of any such casting announcements, making it clear that negotiations are currently in progress and nothing has been decided yet.
Don 3 already experienced casting adjustments in the past. Kiara Advani, who was first roped in as the heroine, had to leave the project allegedly because of her pregnancy. She has been replaced by Kriti Sanon. In spite of all these changes, the pre-production of the film is going on as scheduled, with shooting to begin in January 2026. The movie is highly awaited, particularly since it is the sequel to the Don series under the helm of Farhan Akhtar and the Excel Entertainment banner.
While rumors still go around regarding Massey’s inclusion, neither the actor nor the production house has made any official comment on the news. As it stands, the only confirmed casting announcements are Ranveer Singh taking on Don’s legendary character and Kriti Sanon joining him in the female lead. Fans wait with bated breath for more news as Don 3 enters production, with expectations already high for this big Bollywood franchise revival.
