Hera Pheri is a cult franchise in Bollywood. It is the most popular comedy franchise in Bollywood. 1st part of Hera Pheri was a cult classic and 2nd part carried forward the legacy. 1st part was directed by Priyadarshan and 2nd was directed by Neeraj Vora. Now according to reports, 3rd part will be directed by Farhad Samji.
Hera Pheri was a remake of Malayalam Film Ramji Rao Speaking (1989). Phir Hera Pheri was an adaptation of Hollywood Film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998).
In Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their roles of Raju, Shyam and Babu Bhaiya. Sanjay Dutt has confirmed that he will be playing the role of a blind don in the 3rd part.
In an interview with Mid-Day Farhad Samji was asked about Hera Pheri 3 being a comeback film, he said, “Hera Pheri has remained alive all these years through memes, and satellite screenings. Films like Hera Pheri, Munna Bhai, and Golmaal are the kinds that stay in our hearts and in pop culture, indefinitely.”
He was also asked about being the director of 3rd part, he answered by saying, “The official announcement (of me serving as director) is yet to come. Let it happen, and then we can have a discussion on it.”
Farhad Samji has directed films like Entertainment, Housefull 3, Housefull 4 and Bachchan Pandey. His upcoming directorial Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which stars Salman Khan in lead role is all set to release during Eid this year.
