Pradeep Sarkar passed away at the age of 67. Pradeep was on dialysis and his potassium levels had dropped drastically. He was rushed into a hospital at 3 am because his condition had deteriorated. He passed away in a hospital around 3:30 am.

Pradeep Sarkar has directed some popular films in bollywood. He started his career in 2003, where he was the editor of the iconic film Munna Bhai MBBS. In 2005, he made his debut as a director with Parineeta which had Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. In 2007, he directed Rani Mukerji and Kon Kona Sen starrer Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. In 2010, he collaborated with YRF for Lafangey Parindey. In 2014, he directed Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani. In 2018, he directed his last film Helicopter Eela which had Kajol in the lead role.
He has also directed web series like Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala for ALT Balaji, Forbidden Love for Zee5 and Duranga for Zee5.
