Arjun Tanwar is making waves with his powerful performance in Detective Sherdill, currently streaming on ZEE5. In his debut role as Purvak, a deaf and mute accountant, Arjun delivers a performance that is both sensitive and impactful, earning him praise from critics and audiences alike. Starring alongside stalwarts like Diljit Dosanjh, Boman Irani, Banita Sandhu, and Diana Penty, the newcomer holds his own and leaves a lasting impression.
But Arjun’s big-screen moment is more than just a career milestone, it’s a full-circle moment of destiny. Reflecting on a memory that changed his life, Arjun shares, “Almost ten years ago, I used to go to the same gym as Diljit paaji. One day, he looked at me and told me I would become a big actor someday. That moment stayed with me. And as destiny may have it, making my debut in a film headlined by him—it’s surreal.”
The emotional synergy between the two actors extended beyond nostalgia. Arjun also recalls a key moment on set that helped him grow. “During one emotional scene, I felt I could do better and asked for a retake. Diljit paaji immediately said, ‘Let’s do it.’ His support really boosted my confidence.” It’s these behind-the-scenes bonds that make Arjun’s journey all the more meaningful.
While he’s earning applause for his acting, Arjun is no stranger to the stage. An accomplished singer as well, he opened for Himesh Reshammiya at the sold-out Capmania Tour earlier this May. But it’s his soulful portrayal of Purvak, the caring and devoted boyfriend to Shanti (played by Banita Sandhu), that is currently stealing the spotlight.
From a hopeful moment at the gym to sharing screen space with his mentor, Arjun Tanwar’s journey to the spotlight is one that proves dreams—especially the ones whispered in passing—sometimes do come true.
