Bollywood saw 3 major releases till now in 2023. Shah Rukh Khan made a comeback after 4 years with Siddharth Anand directorial Pathaan. Pathaan has smashed many records at the box office and created new benchmarks. Pathaan opened 400 cr and 500 cr clubs respectively for Bollywood. Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada, an official remake of Allu Arjun starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo bombed at box office. We have mostly seen Kartik in comic roles and Shehzada was the first masala film for him. Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee opened on a disastrous note and was a shocker to the trade as well as the whole industry. Selfiee was a remake of Malayalam Film Driving License which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjarammoodu. In these 2 months, there have also been some small releases, but not a single film proved to be successful at the box office.
