Ajay Devgn’s upcoming biggie Bholaa has opened to shocking numbers at the Box Office. As it was a partial holiday of Ram Navami yesterday the film had a potential to collect 20 cr+ nett at the Box Office. Bholaa could have created havoc at the Box Office as it is an out and out masala action entertainer. The film has only managed to collect 11.20 cr nett on the opening day at the Box Office. By looking at the genre film had a better scope of collecting more than what it has registered.
Bholaa emerges as the 3rd highest opener of Bollywood in 2023. Pathaan had collected 55 cr on its opening day and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar collected 15.73 cr on its opening day.
Bholaa is a remake of Tamil film Kaithi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Ajay Devgn’s previous film Drishyam 2 was also a remake of Malayalam Classic Drishyam 2. Drishyam 2 collected 15.38 cr on it’s opening day and went on to emerge as a Blockbuster. Drishyam 2 had a powerful word of mouth which gave the collections a major boost. Bholaa has garnered mixed word of mouth and this has led to low numbers. Film is made on a huge budget of 150 crores and while looking at the opening things are getting tough for Ajay Devgn starrer Bholaa. The collections will be also affected as IPL starts from today. Bholaa needs a huge turnaround in collection this weekend which can help to post a respectable total.
Bholaa is produced and directed by Ajay Devgn. Bholaa is the 4th film directed by Ajay Devgn. Ajay Devgn has never tasted success at the Box Office and looking at the numbers of Bholaa it’s a worrying sign that Ajay will have to wait longer.
Ajay Devgn will be next seen in sports drama Maidaan which is all set to release on 23rd June, 2023.
