Whenever we hear the name Aamir Khan, the tags which come to our minds are Mr. Perfectionist, Cinematic Genius, Legendary Actor, Box Office King, etc. From starting his career with Papa Kehte Hai Bada Naam Karega to making his name popular worldwide, Aamir has come a long way. Aamir is known for delivering quality films, out of the box stuff, inspirational and motivational films and unique films. Aamir Khan turns 58 today.

Aamir Khan started his acting career as a child artist in the film Yaadon Ki Baaraat which was released in 1973. His first feature film Holi came in 1984. His main entry in the industry was with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak which was released in 1988. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was a huge success at the Box Office. After this film, Aamir and Juhi became stars overnight. In 90s decade Aamir had delivered many successful films and memorable films. He started the 90s decade with Dil, which emerged as a Super Hit at the Box Office. After Dil, he had some unsuccessful films at the Box Office. In 1991, he had Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin which did decent business. This film was known for the chemistry between Aamir and Pooja Bhatt and its music. In 1992, he delivered his 1st Classic film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. In 1993, he had Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke which was successful at Box Office and was also critically appreciated. In 1994, Aamir delivered Best Comedy film of that decade Andaz Apna Apna. In 1995, he got his 1st Blockbuster Rangeela. In 1996, he delivered the biggest hit of his career Raja Hindustani. In 1997, he had the super hit Ishq. In 1998, he had critically acclaimed films Ghulam and Earth. In 1999, Aamir came up with hard hitting classic Sarfarosh.

The 2000s decade proved to be very good and successful for Aamir. In 2001, he delivered back to back classics with Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai. Lagaan was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars. In 2005, he had Mangal Pandey which recorded the highest opening day collections. In 2006, he delivered 2 back to back critically and commercially successful films Rang De Basanti and Fanaa. In 2007,he directed Taare Zameen Par which remains his career best film. With Taare Zameen Par, Aamir proved that he is also a fabulous director along with being a fabulous actor. In 2008, he did Ghajini which smashed each and every record at the Box Office. In 2009, Aamir delivered one of the most loved Indian films of all time, 3 Idiots. In 2013, he did Dhoom 3 which created many records at the Box Office. In 2014  and 2016 he delivered back to back Classics, PK and Dangal. PK and Dangal created many records at the Box Office. In 2017, he made a special appearance in Secret Superstar which is amongst the top 5 Highest Grossing Bollywood Films Worldwide. His last film Laal Singh Chaddha, which was an official adaptation of Forrest Gump didn’t work at the Box Office.

Aamir was honored with the Padma Shri in 2003 and the Padma Bhushan in 2010.

Aamir Khan opened the 100 cr, 150 cr, 200 cr, 250 cr, 300 cr and 350 cr clubs at the Indian Box Office. Ghajini was the 1st Bollywood film to cross 100 cr nett at the Box Office. 3 Idiots was the 1st Bollywood film to cross 150 cr and 200 cr at the Box Office. Dhoom 3 opened the 250 cr club while PK became the 1st film to cross 300 cr at the Box Office. Dangal became the 1st Bollywood Film to collect 350 cr+ at the Box Office. Aamir Khan has been undisputed King of Box Office and has delivered 5 All Time Grossers which is highest for any Actor in Bollywood. The 5 ATGs include Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3, PK and Dangal. Aamir Khan’s biggest Hit remains Raja Hindustani (1996) in terms of footfalls. Till date the highest grossing Indian Film belongs to Aamir Khan, Dangal. Dangal is the highest grossing sports film worldwide and only Indian film which has collected 2000 cr+ globally.

Amongst all the Bollywood Actors, Aamir has most no. of films with 8+ IMDB ratings. He has 10 films to his name which included 3 Idiots, Dangal, Taare Zameen Par, PK, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti and Andaz Apna Apna. In the top 250 movies worldwide on IMDB there are only 3 Bollywood films in the list and all 3 (3 Idiots, Taare Zameen Par and Dangal) belong to Aamir. Out of all the actors post 80s Aamir has the most number of Classic films for any actor in Bollywood.
