Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, recently reflected on a time when his friendship with Shah Rukh Khan faced a rough patch. In a candid conversation with Lallantop (via Indian Express), Aamir recalled that during the release of 3 Idiots, he and Shah Rukh weren’t exactly on the best of terms. He remembered Shah Rukh once taking a playful dig at his intense promotional efforts, calling them “chichorapan” a cheeky remark aimed at Aamir’s energetic marketing style.
At the time, Aamir was traveling across the country in character to promote 3 Idiots, while Shah Rukh was preparing for My Name Is Khan. Responding to SRK’s comment, Aamir said he respected his opinion but believed that his approach to promotion was a valuable experience that contributed to his growth. He also joked that if anyone truly understood “chichorapan,” it would be Shah Rukh himself.
Aamir clarified that there was no deep rivalry between them, just healthy competition. He noted that they had often spent time together at each other’s homes, and even addressed an old blog post where he mentioned “Shah Rukh licking his feet.” Aamir explained that it was actually a humorous reference to a dog named Shah Rukh who belonged to the owner of a farmhouse in Panchgani.
Today, the equation between the three Khans has evolved significantly. Aamir shared that he, Shah Rukh, and Salman Khan now frequently catch up, sometimes late into the night and even into the early morning. According to Aamir, they’ve already met around eight to ten times, enjoying long conversations and drinks that stretch until 7 a.m.
The “chichorapan” comment may have once hinted at a clash of styles, but looking back, it highlights Aamir’s early commitment to pushing boundaries. Now, with time, mutual respect, and shared history, the bond between the superstars seems stronger than ever.
