For decades, Mahesh Bhatt films have set benchmarks when it comes to soulful music, and his latest creation Tu Meri Poori Kahani follows the same tradition. Directed by his protégé Suhrita Das, the film’s music becomes an essential pillar of its promotion. Bhatt’s decision to revive Anu Malik’s career has proven to be a masterstroke, the duo has recreated the kind of magic that reminds listeners of the timeless power of melody.

The teaser of Tu Meri Poori Kahani is out today, featuring the moving track ‘Yeh Ishq Hai Meri Jaan.’ The film stars newcomers Arhaan Patel and Hirranya N Ojha. Backed by producers Ajay Murdia and Vikram Bhatt, the film is written by Shweta Bothra and Suhrita Das, directed by Suhrita Das, with music composed by Anu Malik. The album features singers Papon, Anandi Joshi, Vishal Mishra, Anmol Malik, and Raghav Chaitanya, and is released under the Saregama label.

Speaking about the track, Mahesh Bhatt shared, “This song flows straight from the soul. It makes the heart race faster. Anu Malik has shown through this composition that real music travels from the heart to the heart. Shweta Bothra’s lyrics add a unique richness and emotional depth to it.”

For Anu Malik, Bhatt’s call was nothing short of a lifeline. His tireless work on the soundtrack reflects his enduring brilliance and why he continues to be a force in music. Out of sheer gratitude, Anu Malik added ‘Yeh Ishq Hai Meri Jaan’ to the album as a tribute to Bhatt’s trust in him.

Director Suhrita Das recalled the journey of the teaser song: “Even though our album was complete and we were thrilled with it, Anu Malik wanted to push the envelope and created this new track. He even recorded it at his own expense. Initially, Papon lent his voice, but later Anu decided to re-record with the young and promising Raghav Chaitanya to capture a different energy.”

On Raksha Bandhan, while the nation celebrated, Anu Malik sat in the studio with his harmonium, rehearsing tirelessly. Instead of the current trend of remote recordings, he insisted Raghav sit before him and sing the traditional way.

Raghav Chaitanya shared his experience: “Working with Anu Sir was truly inspiring. His passion and discipline amazed me. When the song was finally ready that evening, he called it his ‘Rakhi gift’ to Suhrita ma’am and Shweta ma’am. The entire team knew instantly that this track had the soul to win hearts and turn into a superhit.”
