OMG 2 has been in the headlines for a long time due to its controversial subject. The Censor Board was asking for too many cuts and had asked makers to do some changes.
OMG (2012) was a Classic film and pure entertainer. The film had a solid message and was liked by each and every age group. It is amongst one of the best films made in Bollywood.
11 years later, the sequel of OMG is coming titled OMG 2. Akshay Kumar plays the role of Lord Shiva whereas Pankaj Tripathi plays the role of a diehard devotee. Yami Gautam essays the role of a lawyer.
Yesterday the news of OMG 2’s trailer getting an ‘UA’ certificate was doing rounds. There was also news which said, censor board had advised makers to change Akshay Kumar’s character from God to the Messenger of God.
Now finally the film has got an ‘A’ certificate from the Censor Board. The duration of the film is 136 mins and 10 seconds.

The film is based on Sex Education and also deals with the topic like Masturbation, Menstrual Hygiene and Child Abuse.
Sex Education and Masturbation are very sensitive topics and linking these with religion and God is something which concerned the Censor Board. It’s difficult for people to accept such a topic in link to God.
Had OMG 2 been a normal film, these taboo topics like Sex Education and Masturbation would have been easily acceptable.

The Censor Board has become more cautious after Adipurush. Adipurush was based on Hindu Epic Ramayana and had some dialogues which hurted people’s sentiments.
When you are making a film based on God, you should be very careful and sensitive to handle the subject.
Recent Hollywood release Oppenheimer also faced backlash on social media. Oppenheimer had a scene where the lead actor is seen doing an intimate scene while reading Bhagavad Gita. This scene created a lot of noise and controversy in India.
OMG 2 is all set to face clash with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2 on 11th August at the Box Office. The film is directed by Amit Rai. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
