Famous Art Director Nitin Desai committed suicide on 2nd August.

His last rites were conducted today, at his own ND Studios in Karjat. His last rites were performed in Studio No. 10.

Many relatives, politicians, celebrities and well wishers came to offer their last prayers.

Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan was also seen offering his last prayers.

Aamir had worked with Nitin in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Lagaan.

Aamir was the one who inaugurated the ND Studios and was asked by the media about the same. Aamir replied by saying, “When the studio started, I was the first to shoot here. Whenever Nitin Ji met me he always used to say that I was the one who inaugurated the studio. It is very tragic and untimely. I think he had a lot of years left in him, could have contributed a lot but it is not in our hands. May god give his family the strength to absorb this shock.”

Aamir further spoke about Nitin Desai and said, “I have worked with Nitin Ji from the start of my career. From Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, we had worked together. Nitish Roy Ji was the production designer of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Nitin Ji was his assistant. It’s very sad, shocking and heartbreaking news. I have no words to describe and I am not able to understand how this happened. Nitin Ji’s work was very good. He was a very creative person, very passionate person. He was a very special person. We have lost a talented person.”

On speaking about his last meeting with Nitin and debt which Nitin had on his head, Aamir said, “My last meeting was with Nitin during some months before his daughter’s wedding. He came to invite me for the wedding. We sat for almost 2 hours. We were meeting after a long time so we had a good catch up with each other. Our meeting took place 8-10 months ago. Wedding took place in March and we met 3 to 4 months ago. He was very happy at that time.”

When asked if anyone from the industry would have helped Nitin, Aamir said, “He never spoke about anything to anyone.”

Aamir was also asked that not many from the industry turned up at his funeral, as he had worked with all the big celebs, he answered it by saying, “Yes many of them were not able to come, but everyone has a huge respect for Nitin ji.”

By concluding, Aamir said, “May god bless them and give their family courage and strength to deal in this difficult situation.”
