Aamir Khan in a recent discussion with News 18 India revealed information about his next film.
Aamir Khan while speaking about his next film said, “I haven’t spoken about this film publicly yet. Even now I won’t be able to tell you about it, but I can reveal the title. The title of the film has been locked. The title of my next film is Sitaare Zameen Par. If you remember, I made a film called Taare Zameen Par. Sitaare Zameen Par also has the same theme and this time we will be going 10 steps ahead taking forward this theme. Taare Zameen Par was an emotional film. Sitaare Zameen Par will make you laugh. Taare Zameen Par made you cry but this film will entertain you. Both the films have a similar theme and that’s why there is a resemblance in the title and that’s why we kept that name after a lot of thought. We are all flawed, we all have weaknesses, and we all have something special. We are taking forward the same theme ahead. My character in Taare Zameen Par helps Darsheel Safary (Ishaan). In Sitaare Zameen Par we have 9 people who despite having problems help me. In this film it is reversed. This time it is not Stars on earth, but it is Superstars on earth.”

Sitaare Zameen Par is said to be an Indian adaptation of Spanish film Campeones (Champions in English). This film will be directed by R.S. Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame.
Campeones is a story of a basketball coach who works with a team of mentally disabled players as part of his community service.
Aamir will be playing the role of a coach who trains a team consisting of mentally disabled players.
Sitaare Zameen Par will be released next year during Christmas.
Sitaare Zameen Par will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Welcome To The Jungle.
Interestingly in 2007, Taare Zameen Par and Welcome clashed with each other at the Box Office.
