Ektaa Kapoor tried to make a taboo breaking film for a mature multiplex audience, but ended up making this soft porn film. Ektaa Kapoor has dumped the garbage of her OTT platform Alt Balaji in the theaters. Ektaa Kapoor has been producing such web shows and films which are strictly meant for 18+ audience.
Thank You For Coming is a full proof disaster and utter crap. The film instead of giving a message about taboo breaking themes, promotes sex. Thank You For Coming shamelessly shows children and old age people talking trash. Thank You For Coming certainly crosses all the limits.
The content is not a problem, but the way it has been served is problematic. Thank You For Coming tries too hard to please a certain section of audience, but the cheap and adult jokes don’t work this time.
Thank You For Coming had a talented cast but the terrible writing doesn’t do any justice to their talents. Bhumi Pednekar is an amazing actor and we have seen her delivering many good performances in the past. Thank You For Coming is a black spot in her filmography. Bhumi tries too hard to get into the character but fails miserably. This character will surely spoil Bhumi’s image and won’t benefit her. Shehnaaz Gill is just a namesake in the film. She is not a part of the girl gang as promoted by the makers and shown in the posters. Shehnaaz is a very dumb character and hardly has 3 to 4 scenes in the film. Kusha Kapila who is also promoted as a part of the girl gang is actually the rival of Bhumi and her gang. Kusha, who gave a poor performance in Sukhee, continues her form. She goes one level down from what she did in Sukhee and fails to impress. Shibani Bedi and Dolly Singh are only seen doing skin shows and acting zero. The cameo of Anil Kapoor and Karan Kundrra are badly written. The character which Anil Kapoor plays doesn’t suit him at all. Karan Kundrra only carries the swag and attitude but fails to leave a mark. The supporting cast only does overacting.
Karan Boolani’s direction is B-Grade. The crap writing and terrible direction have totally ruined the film. Despite a shorter duration of 116 mins, Thank You For Coming feels stretched. This is a boring show just like any Ektaa Kapoor’s melodramatic TV serial.
Thank You For Coming tries to give information about orgasm. Bhumi doesn’t get an orgasm in the film and even the audience won’t get an orgasm (orgasm of a good film) while watching this crap.
Thank You For Coming has very bad music which gives you a headache. The music is forced and doesn’t give pleasure to the ears. Pari Hoon Main has been remade and is a decent track.
Ektaa Kapoor has been using LGBTQ things in her projects. We saw LGBTQ angle in Dream Girl and the same is carried in Thank You For Coming. Thank You For Coming has unnecessarily added LGBTQ angle just to make this film more disgusting.
In the name of exploring taboo breaking themes, the makers have crossed all the limits and the characters are only busy exposing their skin. Not a single character is sensibly written and all of them act like dumb fools. A sensible writing would have made this film more effective.
The message is not conveyed and something else has been promoted on the name of that. After watching Thank You For Coming, even Veere Di Wedding would look like a good film in front of this.
‘Thank You For Not Coming’ would have been the actual words to come out of my mouth, if this film wouldn’t have been released at all.
Prime Video’s Four More Shots Please was a decent watch with a bit of sensible writing and smart characters. Thank You For Coming is a complete misfire in the name of providing hard-hitting, powerful and strong content. Instead of wasting time on this shit, one should watch Four More Shots Please instead.
In the name of feminism and modern society, a film like Thank You For Coming is totally unacceptable. There have been taboo breaking films and films which have given a strong message on feminism. Thank You For Coming degrades society. Expecting anything sensible and harmless from Ektaa Kapoor is a crime.
Overall Thank You For Coming is a badly presented film which crosses all the limits. It is a film which won’t bring any change in the society, instead it will harm the society. This crap show should be completely skipped at any cost. I would only like to say, ‘Thank You For Not Going’ to the audience who doesn’t waste their precious time and watch this film in theaters.
