There are many films which get released in a year. Bollywood is known for producing the highest number of films in a single year in the whole world.
Many films get a solo release date and many times films have to clash at the Box Office. Clashes majorly happen on festivals, between small films, a small film vs a big film etc.
Since 1990, Bollywood has witnessed many such Box Office clashes. Sometimes both the films fail at box office, sometimes both the films succeed and sometimes one film fails and another emerges as a success.
Yesterday there was news doing rounds about Prabhas starrer Salaar clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki.
Shah Rukh Khan has been the king of clashes and has the best success ratio amongst all the other stars in clash.
Dunki and Salaar will clash with each other on 22nd December (Christmas) at the Box Office.

1] Hum Aapke Hain Koun (7.39 cr) vs Vijaypath (1.01 cr) – 1994
Hum Aapke Hain Koun is the biggest hit in the last 30 years. Hum Aapke Hain Koun has a mammoth footfall of 7.39 cr. The footfalls of HAHK seems impossible to break by any Bollywood film. Many don’t know that Hum Aapke Hain Koun also faced a Box Office clash with Ajay Devgn’s Vijaypath. Vijaypath collected more than HAHK on its opening day and in its opening weekend. Family audience came into large numbers for HAHK and history was created. HAHK emerged as an All Time Grosser. Vijaypath also emerged as a Clean Hit. Both the films tasted success at the Box Office.
2] Gadar (5.05 cr) vs Lagaan (1.93 cr) – 2001
Gadar vs Lagaan clash was one of the most talked about clashes in Bollywood. Gadar was in riot mode at the Box Office. Gadar is till date the biggest hit of this millennium in terms of footfalls. Lagaan stood tall against the mighty Gadar and emerged as Hit. Gadar emerged as an All Time Grosser. Gadar is till date the only Bollywood film to have 5 cr+ footfalls in this millennium. Gadar and Lagaan both were successful at the Box Office.
3] Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (4.79 cr) vs Yaarana (0.60 cr) – 1995
Shah Rukh Khan delivered the biggest hit of his career (in terms of footfalls) in a box office clash. DDLJ is amongst the most popular films in World Cinema. DDLJ created havoc at the Box Office at the time of its release. DDLJ gave SRK the tag of King Of Romance. DDLJ faced clash with David Dhawan and Madhuri Dixit’s Yaarana. Yaarana flopped at the Box Office and was not able to stand against DDLJ. DDLJ was the 2nd biggest hit in the 1990s. DDLJ is still running successfully in Maratha Mandir Cinema. DDLJ is the longest running film ever in World Cinema.
4] Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (3.56 cr) vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1.63 cr) – 1998
After delivering the biggest hit of his career in a clash, SRK delivered his 2nd biggest hit in clash too. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is SRK’S 2nd biggest hit till date in terms of footfalls. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai had recorded a huge footfall of 3.56 cr. David Dhawan once again clashed with SRK and this time finally got a hit. SRK’s both the biggest hits came in clash vs David Dhawan. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead roles. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also emerged as a Hit at the Box Office. These 2 films clashed with each other during Diwali in 1998.
5] Gadar 2 (3.40 cr) vs OMG 2 – 2023
Just like its prequel, Gadar 2 also faced a clash at the Box Office. Gadar 2 just like its prequel emerged as an All Time Grosser in clash. Gadar franchise is the most watched film in Bollywood. The combined footfalls of Gadar franchise stands at 8.45 cr. Gadar has more footfalls than Dhoom series, Dabangg series, Golmaal series, Housefull series, Krrish series, etc. Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 also stood tall against Gadar 2 storm and emerged as a Super-Hit. OMG 2 collected 150 cr at the Box Office. Both the films clashed with each other on the occasion of Independence Day. Gadar 2 is the biggest hit post-pandemic. Sunny Deol created history with Gadar and Gadar 2.
